Our family was in town for the weekend and ran across a coupon for Chaney's Dairy Barn. What a treat! We took a couple of blankets and sat out in a field together and watched a free movie together. Our daughters enjoyed a delicious ice purchased there. There's a playground there, lots of things for kids to do. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful evening under the stars. It was a definite highlight of our trip to Bowling Green, KY.
The best ice cream around. And they offer no sugar added options. And a great drive through scenic back roads. A great side trip.
I've been to Chaney's several times and have always gotten good service and good ice cream. Nice family friendly place.
I don't even have kids, but when I do I'm bringing them to the "Ice Cream and MOOOvie" during the summer! There's a playground for the kids, and plenty of events throughout the year, and the ice cream is spectacular year-round. I couldn't pick a favorite if you asked me to. I haven't had any of the other food items available.
We had really high hopes for this, it came highly recommended, and we were ready for the trek. And it was a trek, this is really in the middle of nowhere. We had ice cream and lunch here, and the food was really pretty marginal. My kids didn't finish theirs at all, and my wife was equally disappointed. The ice cream was going to be the highlight, we were sure of it. But sadly it was just ok. As someone else posted, it tasted kind of stale or old if that's the right word. They had a lot of flavors, but I couldn't find anything I loved. I went with a malt and it was chalky. However, they do some neat things with movies and events, and the playground area outside was a good break for the kids on a road trip. 3 out of 5 seems right, not good, not bad.
We went for dinner and ice cream after a day exploring Bowling Green. The food was ok, although my husband loved the "world famous chicken salad." The ice cream was good, but I had really high expectations from the reviews and it didn't meet them. But then we went outside to the playground. We had the whole place to ourselves. With twin 2 year old boys, a 7 year old girl, a huge slide, lots of dirt and trucks-everyone was happy. We didn't even do the jumping pillow-which was free for under 3 I think. Def a good stop to run off some energy and a good place to end the day, I would imagine the movies there outdoors are a lot of fun.
Hi, I have three kids - 6, 5 and a baby and we spent a few hours at the Dairy Farm. So much fun. They have shaded picnic tables where you can eat lunch and its right next to the playground, so they kids can play. Great bathroom facilities (always imp with little kids). Nice, clean and great food - definitely recommend this to people with young kids. Also, we made an appointment to see the cows with the farmer - and it didnt work out, our lines got crossed - but we still got to visit with the cows and my kids were able to pet the baby cows. Everyone here was very friendly and I highly recommend this place! I'd say plan on staying between 1 - 2 hours.
What a great local attraction! Great hand made sandwiches and home made ice cream. The ice cream comes in at least 20 flavors every day! During the summer they have movies on the side of the barn. They also have a playground for kids and a pavillion with picnic tables.
We love this place and always stop here on birthdays and get a scoop or two of our favorite ice cream.
We have visited Chaney's Dairy Barn several times. It has quality ice cream and other products. The facilities for children to play are nice. Also, adults can just sit and watch the events.
