10 years ago Sideways brought attention to Santa Barbara pinot noirs. Loring Wine Company is among the very best pinot producers you will taste anywhere and their tasting room is delightful. In addition they produce chardonnays, a mouvedre, a few cabs, and a wonderful blend of cabernet and mouvedre. This tasting room is a must visit if your are doing wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley

Next to the Hitching Post II on the east side of Highway 101. You have an option of tasting the Loring wines or the Cargasacchi wines (slightly more expensive). The slightly overpriced 2013 Durell Pinot Noir for $52 was very good. I also liked the 2012 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon for a much more reasonable price of $26. Tasting fee was waived with the purchase of three bottles. Only open Thurs thru Mon.
