Lots of items to sample. Free tours of the factory right there.Good wholesome candy and plenty to choose from.
Who wouldn't want to see where yummy candy is made? We did and were very excited... until we started shopping. We were originally greeted by a very lovely young woman who soon left to lead a tour. As we shopped, a different girl (short, long dark hair and olive skin tone) watched us closely and followed us around the store while pretending to straighten shelves. When we got to the counter, she never said hello, greeted us in any way or asked how we were. We actually said something to her about it and she barely apologized. She needs to find a position in the back office before tourist season.
I have been a fan of Aplets and Cotlets for many years. Folks who know and love the Chronicles of Narnia will remember Edmund eating enchanted Turkish Delight. They make it here, without the magical side effects. There is plenty to sample, and buy, in the store, and the factory is just behind the gray doors. Our tour guide, Lauren, was enthusiastic and kind, and answered our questions. The tour lasts about 15 or 20 minutes, and it's worth it to bring well behaved children to see how candy is made, and also to get a group shot in cute hair nets!
We made a special trip to cashmere just for the aplets and cotlets. Even if you are not a fan of candied fruit, the free samples and free factory tour ( which is interesting) make this a worthwhile stop
Someone told me to go here while visiting Leavenworth Washington state. I was not disappointed. Cashmere is a cute little town to visit, with Aplets & Colets Candy store. They have samples throughout the store for you to try, before you buy. I ended up buying a few boxes to bring back home with me. If you get a chance to visit this town, do so you won't be disappointed.
Aplets and Cotlets, need I say more. Full tour, free samples, store with everything Aplets, yum! You can't go wrong. Whether visiting from afar or a local, don't pass this up. Then go see the Pioneer museum.
unbelievably TASTY! Such friendly and helpful staff.Missed the production line but that's OK. I was told by a friend back home to make sure I see this - he was dead on! AND WHAT A NEAT TOWN!
If you like these "Turkish Delights" this is a must stop! Lots & lots of free samples, good prices because some of the boxes are near expiration date so the savings is there. Also bulk bagged applets & cotlets are great prices. We missed the factory tour because the last one is at 3:30 p.m. & we didn't know that. They started the video for us on the large screen where you see the entire process of making the candy, so I doubt that we missed much. Just go earlier in the day if you want to go on the actual tour.
We enjoyed seeing the tour and tasting lots of candies. Bought a few too! A must to see if you are in Cashmere, a neat little town!!
Did not take the tour but purchased items not locally found. Very worthwhile for that, in the future will take the tour.
