Interesting building design. Make this part of your visit.History of Zermatt. Short movies, reconstruction of the town, photos,
Great museum in the heart of the village. So well designed and interesting for the whole family to wander about.Lovely lady works at reception and it's a lovely way to spend an hour and learn about the history of such a beautiful place.
My opinion may be bias by the fact we don't pay for museums in the UK, but I thought this was a small museum and should be free.So much money is pumped into the area by tourism, so services like this should be free.Maybe the UK should start charging for museums as well.Very little customer service, and no staff on hand in the museum itself to bring the stories/artefacts to life.
Our daughter had a blast in the museum! It was both entertaining and educational. Both my husband and my daughter kept returning to the interactive elements and were both just so thrilled! They both could have stayed in the museum all day long. It's small, but a definite must if traveling with children!
Loved the old German black and white film showing about the first successful ascent. Interesting recreations of houses. A bit on the flora and fauna. Sadly the 16 th century body found with sword was simply a photograph. Presumably the items are at some bigger museum.
Interesting and hands on. Learned about the triumphs and tragedies on the mountain. Open from 3pm daily
The museum is really interesting... all this story about Zermatt, the reconstruction, the movies, the old material and old town, the photos ! Really good ! Gotta go if you are in Zermatt !
We wanted to see this museum to get a better understanding of the hardship and history of conquering the Matterhorn. Amazing courage and determination to achieve.
This is a great little museum and so interesting. GIves you the history of the mountain climbs as well as tourism in Zermatt and how the locals lived in this climate. A must see while in Zermatt.
Well worth the admission price. So much information on the area, the many climbs, climbers, equipment etc. A must to fully understand the Matterhorn and the Zermatt history.
