  Prestwould Plantation is a hidden gem! It's one of the most complete plantation Thhouses in the country due to the discover of the plantation inventory lists which led to the recovery of many of the original furnishings through donations back to the house. The story of Lady Jane Skipwith is fascinating, the house is amazing, and the gardens are very pretty. The docents are all volunteer,. I believe, and you may want to check on the hours the house is open or to arrange a tour. Clarksville is worth a visit as well for it's lake, museum, and charming shopping district. The are several nice restaurants as well as a couple motels and B&Be.
