During our stay at Lake Norman we went to see Jetton Park to see if we can do some swimming, relaxation and maybe a bit of walking. The only possible pass time was walking. Relaxation is a bit difficult with motor boats heard from various directions. Swimming is banned on the small beach in the park, but if you have a boat you can swim just 10 - 20 m away from the shore! There is no explanation as to why there is no swimming permitted just big signs standing on the beach.
This is a very shaded and well maintained park with paved paths for walking and running. There are lovely areas where you get "peeks" at the lake and a few "breach" type areas that you can get close to the water.
We were at the park in the late afternoon. There are walking trails, benches overlooking the water, which we enjoyed, and play area for children. It is a "busy" park with runners and walkers. My plan is to revisit when I can spend more time and do the walking trails.
Very well maintained. The environment is so friendly and you find tracks for jogging. It has child play area. During summer the breeze from the lake makes you feel much relaxed. I go very often for a walk when I am really stressed. Best park in that area.
Well kept trails, dog friendly. Nice view of the lake. A great way to spend an hour or two. Daily charge if you are in a car
I had the opportunity to visit Jetton Park last weekend for a charity event supporting both canine & human cancer research. The park is absolutely beautiful, & sits on the shore of Lake Norman. Walking/running trails are well maintained & it was a perfect venue for this event.
I love this park. I believe the walking trail is approx. a mile, but you can cut through the middle of the park on other trails too, or take a book and sit on a bench or swing right next to the lake and relax! They also have probably 30 or so picnic tables, you can spend the day and take your family. Very well maintained. As summer begins, you may have to pay $3 to enter the park, but truthfully most of the time no one is in the booth at the entrance. I think I have paid once in 4 years.
There are some really fun areas at the park, and it's beautifully laid out to host a variety of events. The park is very clean, and a safe environment for children of all ages.
The weather was perfect and sunny. There is a nice wooded walking path with benches and picnic tables with views of the lake. The Picnic tables have grills and can be reserved online.
This is a great place to walk, ride a bike, picnic or just enjoy the beauty of Lake Norman. The 1 1/4 mile paved walking trail takes you into the woods and provides great views of the lake. There are many places to sit and relax. Fun playgrounds keep the children entertained. On many weekends there is a small charge to enter by car but if you walk in you do not pay. Great place to spend an afternoon.
