My boyfriend and I visited here on a Sunday late afternoon on a stopover on the way to Sedona. We had FABULOUS wine (Lotus and many more) and on the recommendation of a friendly couple we sat with, I am looking forward to future releases. We sat outside and our selections were brought to us...which is not the norm. We were relaxed and enjoyed the experience. The woman who served us knew her stuff without being snotty and I could tell that she believed in the wines. I could have hung out for a long time. Would go back absolutely anytime.
Nice tasting room in Cottonwood. We were with a large group and we sat outside on the patio area for our tasting. This is not a vineyard but they get their grapes from California and make their own wine. The owner presented the tasting and he had just returned from a run to Paso Robles with a truck load of grapes. He truly loves what he is doing and it show. Enjoyed a couple of the wines and they are worth buying for the unique labels. They also have employees who really enjoy what they are doing. Worth a stop here.
Visiting Sedona, we were advised to also seek out the wine tasting at a place called Burning Tree Cellars in Cottonwood. An original little mining town that was rejuvenated. What a delight. Warm, inviting atmosphere with comfortable leather sofas which encouraged great conversations with other friendly fellow wine tasters. Alisiya, staff member, was very well versed on their wines along with being very accommodating and attentive to our requirements. The only surprise is that wine glasses are not replenished after each tasting. Instead, one must clean the glass themselves before the next pour.Too bad their wines can only be enjoyed in Arizona, as they do not ship out.
Visited this tasting room on a sister's trip to AZ. The tasting room and the outdoor seating area were really neat - this would be a great place to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine with a group of friends. The workers there were really helpful in recommending wineries to visit and were very friendly and informative.
Burning Tree is a MUST stop if you're in Cottonwood or doing a wine tasting in Arizona! The employees and owner are so friendly, fun, and of course super knowledgeable and helpful with the wine. I have been to the tasting room with just my husband as well as with large parties and they are great at accommodating both! They also have a large patio area to enjoy as well. Their wines are by far some of the best wines my husband and I have ever drank (and we have been to Napa and Sonoma). We try to visit a few times a year to taste anything new they come out with. The Impressionist and The Peasant are our personal favorites. Stop by here and ENJOY!!
I would not even use my free wine tasing coupon to go here again. Once was enough. I hated it as did my husband. We are lovers of wine and had a very poor experience here. On a postive note, the outside of the wine room is lovely.
This was our first experience with AZ wine tasting. The tasting room is nice. From their schedule they apparently have a lot of live music and I could imagine that would be a nice venue. The wine was good. It was bigger and more complex than I expected but that may be because they use Paso grapes.
Mary H, 1) I would like say thank you for coming into my tasting room. 2) it was explained to you and your friend that we start with the lighter wines and pour to the heaver wines on the flight you choose. Every other tasting room in town (and NAPA) does exactly the same thing that we do. One glass is used per person and you keep the glass. 3) Your friend was very rude and threw the glass across the table at the person waiting on you and stated " not in that glass" and demanded a new one. 4) Your server never looked at the menu one time after you choose the flight you wanted. 5) My manager was working and observed the entire incident, both members of my staff did an outstanding job attempting to please you and your friend. This was not possible since you friend continued to be rude while you were in the tasting room and made rude comments while you were leaving. 6) I am sorry that you did not have a pleasant experience. If you felt this should have been addressed you should have called me. Mitch
We really enjoyed this experience, which is very reasonably priced ($10 for 5 tastings). The staff member (Alysiah?) was genuinely nice, friendly and truly knowledgeable about wine. She knew what she was talking about! We didn't know there Arizona made anyone until we stumbled on this place!
We did two separate tastings and all the wines kept getting better and better!!!! The Lotus and the Duke were our favorites. Wonderful customer service from Phil who told us about all the wines, the history of Burning Tree, etc. This place is wonderful. The wines are excellent!!!!! You need to check this place out!!!!
