We had a great time and experience. The service as well as the food was very good. The theaters were very comfortable and roomy. If you don't like eating in semi darkness, arrive 30-45 minutes early. I would definitely advise prepurchasing your tickets online. We will be going back soon!
It is a great concept and I really like to go BUT when the movie starts the airco starts too!! We told the staff and they had more complaints. So if you go there put on a Jacket and bring a scarf and a blanket......
Great comfortable seats with plenty of leg room, a call button for service, and a food tray that swivels into place to eat off of. The service was great, the food was very good and there was a huge selection. You can get a bottle of wine, draft & bottle beer, who cares if the movie is any good.
Great setup, seats are very comfortable and large. Aisles are wide to allow services to be delivered easily, food was good.
The theater was clean and lovely. The staff were all informative, professional, attentive and courteous, but the price was too high for the low food quality. Dinner and a movie for my husband and I came to almost $70 (and he got the senior citizen discount!)Hubby liked the pickle chips, but our cheeseburgers tasted mostly like cheap filler (soy?) and the fries were stale. Drink refill took a LONG time to come.We might go again with our free birthday tickets (if there's something we want to see,) but probably not past that.
Went with friends not knowing what to expect and was really surprised. As you would would expect it was a great theater. The surprising part was the food and the service. Great food and large menu. The service was excellent. The staff makes it a really enjoyable experience. Make a point to try it soon!
This place gets more ridiculous each time my family goes. The service was excellent when the Tavern first opened, but it has gone downhill fast. The managers are very friendly when you speak to them, and seem to really care about your experience, but things don't change. Today they are out of half of their menu. From now on we have decided that we will just eat before we come. Even though the food and service sucks most of the time, the seats are still nice and the movies are good!
I took my girlfriend here a few times because like most Americans, we like movies and we like spirits. I used to live a mile from Canal Place Theaters and I heard this was the same business model. But, the orders took forever and our servers wouldn't take orders 30 minutes before the movie was over. So we weren't able to order anything but a pizza. So no tip. Sorry, but "you know what" rolls down hill and that's a message.
Comfortable and clean theaters, friendly, fast service and good food. Pook got the Hummus with the freshest vegetables ever and we shared the Chicken Tacos which were very tasty. And they serve wine-some very good wines, too. It was so great to watch a spectacular film while munching on something other than popcorn and JuJubees! Honestly, our trip to the Movie Tavern has changed the way we will experience films for good. No more crowded theaters with diet coke and popcorn for me! We will definitely visit there again.
I know these exist elsewhere, but I have not been to one. I for one enjoyed the experience with my wife. The drinks and food were great and the seats were very comfortable. They were out of whatever she originally ordered, but she ordered something similar and we both enjoyed our food. I read the other comments previously, andIf you expect perfection, you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for a unique experience, some moderately good food (think more Applebee's menu, not Ruth Chris steak house), you will enjoy yourself.
