I've been there a few times now and have loved it every single time. The horses are very well behaved, the staff is patient and nice and the place is always clean and tidy. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful trail ride to get your mind away from the regular busy life!
I went on a Valentine's Day ride this past weekend and had the best time! The trail guide is really friendly and our horses were so beautiful!. I encourage you to go take a ride on the trail and bring a loved one with you :)
I'm not sure what the negative reviewers are going on about, but I had an absolutely wonderful trail ride here a few weeks ago. All of the staff were incredibly helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable, with none of the snobbery I've seen at some other stables. The horses had great attitudes as well! To top it off, pricing for trail riding is reasonable. I'll be back for sure!
My name is April Mackey, and I called early this week and got no answer. I filled out the form online to schedule an 11:00 AM 90 minute trail ride for two for Saturday, 12/22/12, using a Groupon. Today is Friday, and I just sent Susan a text on the scheduling number (which she indicated on her voicemail would warrant a faster response). I see that the owner frequents this website to respond to customers, so I hope that someone contacts me ASAP to confirm my trail ride. I am really looking forward to this as this will be my first time going horeseback riding. I promise to write a nicer review if I get a good response and service.
Hello,I complete agree with SC and other reviews. I have been trying to call flowered rock farm for 5 days, left several VM, sent texts and email. I have not heard back at all. I am assuming they do this for people who have bought deals off of sites like halfoffdepot etc...It is very dissapointing that no one has the courtesy to call back. I saw great reviews on yelp, so I decided to buy the certificates. It has been a nightmare trying to reach anyone. So if the owner is really concerned about the customer service. I am more than open to share my contact info. so I can be reached. She replied to SC review stating she has no way of reaching them.I am still trying to get a reservation so we can use our certificate. Hopefully if they honor that, then the ride will be much better than the responses.
My mom purchased an 80 min trail ride for me for my birthday in March of 2012. She purchased it through living social or Groupon type website. I was very excited because I had not been horseback riding in quite some time and my husband has never been. When I tried calling them to set up a time to go riding, they NEVER answered the phone and I left three or four voicemails(which were spread out over a period of about two-three months after i recived the voucher). Then, at the beginning of this month, March, I decided to try calling again since my voucher was about to expire. I called, and called , and called. No one would answer the phone and, additionally, their voice mailbox was full which indicated to me that no one was checking messages or returning calls. So my husband quickly jumped online to check reviews, and we saw others having the same problems as us so we just assumed we'd tell my mom to get her money back. Then one afternoon, I call and someone picks up: "Hello?"... I say "is this flowered rock farm?" the boy says "yes." So I speak with this kid who sounds like he's about 16 or 17 years old and he keeps asking me to repeat myself because he couldnt hear me, but I could clearly hear him, and I ask him to tell his mother to call me and he says "ok, she will call you within the hour." So, about 4 hours later, I get a call on my cell from his aunt, Susan. She was very polite and said she could try and get my husband and I out on a day that there were very few riders or none! So I said great, I'll get back to you with my schedule and you tell me the best day! So The next night, I get a text message from her asking about my schedule and I text her back saying i will send her my schedule so we can set up a time. We texted back and forth a little bit and everything was fine, we set a time and day to come up. Then, when I asked her to make sure someone would be there when we showed up (since in one of the reviews i read they didnt bother to show up for an appt) so we dont waste gas and time, the tone changed and she started texting me in all caps and using lots of exclamation points and question marks, and when I tried calling her to remind her of our conversation we had where i had brought up that review about them not showing up, she sent me straight to voicemail and texted me saying she was on the other line. So I texted her and asked her to call me as soon as she could. I never heard from her, I tried calling her a number of times after that, even from different numbers, and no phone call back. So when I texted her tonight and told her i would be posting a review WITH screenshots of our text conversations and getting a refund, she texted me back. BIG surprise! I have pictures of our convo via text and I want others to see this so they dont feel like they're the only ones being treated like this! They were unprofessional and rude, happy birthday to me, i guess.
The Good: Location is great, the employee working today, Zack, was very friendly and personable. The Bad: There were college age kids running the show. There were several teenagers around as well and it was difficult to tell if they were just helping or actually employees. Moreover they were indistinguishable from the guests - I couldn't tell if I was taking direction from an experienced rider or a stable employee. It didn't seem like anyone really knew what was going on and it showed a lack of leadership from the owners. My husband's first horse didn't have stirrups and the horses looked tired from giving rides all morning - apparently there were several sick horses and they had to recycle the only healthy ones to give rides that day.The Ugly: The horse my husband rode (Prophet) would not respond to Western commands, or any commands for that matter, but only wanted to stop and graze and head back to the barn. This 10 year old horse seemed to have his own agenda. The guides lead us on FOOT. My horse (Venture) responded okay to me but seemed really tentative along some of the terrain. We were told that we would have a ride along the river which...we saw the river but I wouldn't call it "along the river." When we returned I was told we could take a walk around the ring before dismounting. When I gave Venture a slight kick to get him to walk he bucked. I'm not an experienced rider but have gone on enough rides to know that his horse had had it for the day. There really wasn't any order to this whole process. There was a huge orange sign that asked to tip the guide if we had a good ride. Because our guides literally had to walk the whole ride (which only ended up being 45 minutes) we did tip them something -- I honestly felt sorry for them. Flowered Rock looks like a place that could have potential if someone got in there and did an over-haul on their business practices. Two Cents: Not worth going here, don't spend your money on this place.
I went with a few people horse back riding. The trails were interesting and beautiful with the scenery. The staff was friendly and professional. The horses are well trained, easy and friendly. As a experienced rider, i can suggest that place to families with kids/teenagers, for a fun and interesting Experience. I will go back for more anytime, very soon. Price wise good deals.
Had a wonderful time at the farm. The staff was very knowledgeable and so friendly. The property is absolutely beautiful! We'll definitely be back!
