I have honestly never dealt with an institution with poor record keeping, not to mention various times of attempting to get a hold of their departments. Always claiming that they are either out of the office of on a family leave for 2 1/2 years ? seriously, does it take that long to do a graduation audit? They are heartless individuals not willing to help when help is needed. I would NEVER recommend even my worst enemy to attend Aquinas.
I loved the small gorgeous campus. The one on one attention from professors. The atmosphere...best college memories.
My parents can attest that this is a pricey college but the atmosphere and community is worth it. Surrounded by trees and history as well as friendly professors, I am glad I went!
My husband and I are alumni. Our daughter is currently a student on academic and athletic scholarship. Excellent education for those serious about learning and getting great opportunities for promo internships. It was begun as a Catholic college, but is very liberal-minded and accepting of all-comers and encourages highly critical thinking.
If you're on the southeast side of Grand Rapids and looking for a lovely spot for a drive-through this campus is a great option. It's located on the east beltline not far from the great shopping and dining options around 28th street SE.
Aquinas is a small college that is dedicated to excellence in both education and optimizing the student experience. Every step of the way the Aquinas staff works with students to be sure they get the most out of their college experience. Small classes often taught by professionals in their field add much to the experience. I have three daughters who attended Aquinas College and all are doing very well. I highly recommend Aquinas College.
We attended an event in the KRETSCHMER Recital Hall at the Art and Music Center recently. We had concerns because one of us uses a four-wheeled walker and cannot manage stairs. The Recital Hall was completely accessible via an outside ramp or via an inside elevator. Accessible bathrooms were within a short distance of the Hall. The campus is beautiful--a forested academic oasis in the midst of a less than picturesque city. We were only visitors to the campus. It must be a pleasure to be a student at the College and walk through the lovely surroundings. For visitors who are unfamiliar with the limited parking on campus, it may be a bit of a problem to access a well-attended event.
This small Catholic college is nestled on the grounds of a former estate in southeast Grand Rapids, MI. The school has been well endowed by a wealthy local businessman for decades. It has a dedicated, caring staff, beautiful facilities, and its small size makes campus life easy, unstressful, and laid back.
Fun to walk around when you're in the mood for a quiet walk on a weekend, when there are less students around. An old estate, with smalls ponds, great for watching birds and wildlife. Also a great college!!
We went to see a play at the Circle Theater and got there early and walked around campus. Very beautiful old buildings with great walking paths and scenic landscaping. The theater is very modern and new and a great place to see plays.
