I loved looking around in this large store. They had an interesting variety of things that one does not find in stores all the time. It was not as much of a hardware store as I expected, but I had a lot of fun looking around. They had everything from cast iron cookware to a wide variety of soda brands that you never see.Oh! I almost forgot!! They had a display of wood carvings like I had never seen before. It is worth going there just to see those. They are AMAZING and no cost to see them.
Now almost everything is made in China for tourists. I won't tell you where the real hardware stores are cause i don't want to loose them to tour buses of city folks!
Love the new old looking items all thur out the store. Anything one can use in a home is in this store. Many times I think that we should go back in time and live as our great grandparents did. This is the perfect place to find what that old odd item you might need to replace or parts&pieces for something broken. If you have some extra time just take a walk and go back in time thur out the Lehman's store.
We enjoyed visiting Lehman's. The staff was friendly and helpful in every department! Lois was helpful in finding the correct size of lamp globe for us.
I was expecting a hardware store with tons of cool hardware stuff. I found a kitchen shop, lots of nick nacks, and expensive little baubles for wanna be chefs, and books. There was an area in the corner that sold fireplace inserts but they were severely overpriced. This place is good for an outing but I more enjoyed the surrounding countryside...very beautiful.
Located in Amish country, Lehman's has gazillion interesting household items under one roof. Even if hardware is not your thing, I guarantee you will find plenty to amaze you. This site is similar to the Vermont Country Store, but with less flannel and much more tin! They also have fantastic fudge, as well as other candy and foodstuffs available. Allow at least an hour to fully enjoy the experience.
Glad they gave us a map. Can get lost in store. Kind of scary in an emergency. Should have more exits! Disappointed to see mass produced items you can see any where. They do have items that are hard to find too but nothing I need. More interesting to see items above those for sale. Parking lot was pretty full for a Wednesday but still able to park.
We came by first thing in the morning, as they open early. 8:00 I think. So happy we did. What a wonderful store with everything you can imagine, from kitchen items to canning, to stoves to hardware to toys. We spent over 2 hours in here and still felt like we didn't see everything. We bought candle holders that fin in mason jars, apple peeler, enamel ware pie pan, cotton dish cloths, jerky, books, you see my point. They do have a little film and a display of beautiful hand made carved wood scenes. Don't miss this. Lots of items we would never use, like cheese making items, sauerkraut making, etc. but it was a blast looking. There is a little café you can order from sandwiches, ice cream, baked goods with a few tables if you need a break while shopping. This is a yearly stop for us.Tip: our GPS said Kidron Ohio. The outlet store for here is in the back.
This is a hardware store like no other. This store is in Amish country and there are many items that do not run on electricity. There are kerosene heaters, refrigerators that run on propane, wringer washers. I even found a blender with a crank. There are lots of nooks and crannies and there is something for everyone. It has become a destination and can be very crowded at times. There is a deli on site and next to it is an outlet store. Very interesting store.
this is a very nice place to shop at they have some unusual things there & some things that u don't find in your regular stores. just fun to walk around & check things out for something to do when u are down in Amish Country.
