We spend the entire afternoon here with kids ages 17 months, 5 and 10 and we all had a great time! Be sure to also visit the adjacent Scovill Zoo and playground with carousel. A really fun day for the family!
So...... I recently went to Louisville, KY and after paying a huge amount for their "children's museum", I want to say Decatur, you have something really good here. My toddler loves the grocery store, the climbing thing in the middle, the bubbles, he just likes the whole place! I don't suggest this place for older kids, like a lot of people post. My 13 year old doesn't have much to do when he is here.
My 2.5 year old daughter and I visited the Children's Museum for their Halloween Hoopla in October and had a great time. There was plenty for her to do with the regular exhibits and stations, and the extra Halloween stuff (science experiments, crafts, smores, and some candy/small toys) made it perfect for a younger child. Definitely someplace we'll come back to in the future!
Lots of neat things to see and do! It was also very educational too. May not be as much fun for older kids.
Very family oriented and fun for the kids. In a lovely setting. Staff is friendly. Parking is ample. Location is not far from the center of Decatur.
This visit was our second with different ages of foster children. They always go crazy here. They have added a new area since last time we visited. Slides and giant tinker toys galore. My same and only complaint both times, is that parents have to pay to get in. There is absolutely nothing for adults to do here. I feel that a suggested donation be put for parents as my wife and I paid $10 to watch our foster child run around. I can do that for free all day. Other than that, the place is great for kids.
What a great Sunday fun day! We spent 2 1/2 hours with are three yer old son and I must say we ALL enjoyed every minute of it. A must do!
When my grandchildren were small one of their favorite outings was to the Children's museum. There is a lot of interesting things to do, they have a bubble room that I have spent hours in. There are play stations like, home life, an ambulance, train set-up etc. Well worth the money.
Great place for fun & learning activities. Took my grand-kids there - ages 6 and 12 - both liked it immensely! The new 'silicon sand' had all the adults amazed as well! All exhibits are 'hands on' that the kids love!
There's a little something for every child here - painting, giant bubbles, climbing, role play, science, building, and so much more. My grandkids and I spend hours there!
