Beautiful palazzo with well preserved and restored rooms. A must when visiting Torino. We enjoyed greatly our visit.
Current cost to tour this palace is 12 Euros. They provide a reasonable number of explanatory sign boards in a variety of languages. However, the royal apartments, the kitchens and the gardens were unavailable without explanation.
Yes there are some faults with this attraction. The price at $15 is not cheap, the signage is not always the best, the entrance is convoluted or confusing because you are allowed to go so far and then you are told you need to back downstairs and around the corner to buy tickets. Once you get past the hurdles it is a beautiful display of what life was like during the Savoys reign of Italy. The kitchen and some of the apartments were under renovation to be ready for the spring and summer season, but the rooms that were available were fantastic especially the armory of historical weaponry. You can spend an hour just in this room and not see all of it. Overall what could be viewed was restored and displayed as good as any other palace in Europe and better than most. The displays were a (5) but the ticket situation and the closed displays at no reduced price reduced the rating to average. This attraction is not open on Mondays.
One of the finest "small" royal palaces visited. Excellently maintained and very intimate. One can actually imagine how they lived by touring the palace. Not overly expensive either.
This is the Italian equivalent to Buck House but much more elaborate! What made it exceptional was the room attendants who were very knowledgable and willing to talk and tell you all about what you were looking at and inform about the changing lifestyles at various periods of the buildings history. Well worth a visit.
Very interesting and well conserved palazzo from the Savoia ex-royal family.about 10 euro the entrance, absolutely worth!
We weren't sure if this exhibit was worth going into because there were no lines or cue to get into it; but to our surprise, it was well worth the price of admission. Fascinating presentation of the history of the Royal Palace of Turin. Each room had a very interesting write-up on it's history - available in a variety of languages including English. The best part of the exhibit was the Royal Armory. We had never seen such a fine display of armor , complete with fully armored men on actual horses. The Armory was in an enormous, long-corridor beautiful room. It appeared that the town may be doing a lot of restoration to the Palace and to the grounds around it as there was a lot of activity going on outside, and a few of the areas inside were not available for viewing while we were there - but there was still a lot of beautiful things to see. Well worth the price of admission
If you are in Turin and have time to visit its attractions this place is a good option. Even though it is not as imposing as other royal palaces you can find around the world, it is still interesting and worthy for the low price of the ticket.
I am used to visit castel and palace. Most often visits are expensive and rooms are beautiful but quite empty... That is why this palace was a very good surprise: only 6€ and the rooms are full of furnitures of this period. The decoration is very rich and in great condition.I would say it is a must see in Turin.
The palace is amazing in the displayed wealth and grandeur. The art collection and armory were impressive as well.
