Nice little winery. Nice people. From Sterling, IL so it is just right for an afternoon ride. Set in beautiful country with great views. You will surely find more than one wine to your liking. I will be visiting again.
We always enjoy visiting this winery when we are in the area. They have an annual Wine Stomp Festival in September. An afternoon of games, Wine Tasting, Music, & Cheese plates etc. You can bring a picnic lunch if you'd like also.Just a fun relaxing time.
Just happened upon this winery while exploring the countryside on our motorcyle. Nice selection of local wines and active owner's and informed staff.
About 1 half hour out of Galena, nice store and tasting room with super nice gal directing your tasting.
The interior was welcoming and the server at the bar gave us a good recommendation for a wine to give to friends.
Although we didn't visit the actual winery, we visited the shop in Galena and was a nice little surprise. We paid $5 to sample 6 different wines. The host was a nice woman. They have some really nice dry wines. The bottles are very affordable! I recommend "Dandelion"!
The best thing about this winery is the people who work here. The bartender we had on Sunday was just so pleasant and fun to hang out with. Its very affordable here 5 tastings for 3 bucks. My husband and I both did the tasting and then bought a bottle to drink while enjoying the company of the bartender. She took us in the back and gave us a tour, it was pleasant. Beautiful drive to get out there, lots of hills and views.
Stopped in the wine tasting room today and was pleasantly surprised. The attendants were very nice and the wine was yummy. Ended up buying a bottle of Port..
Me and my girlfriend where in the area and decided to stop by and sample some wine. And thank god we did! It just so happen to be their harvest party and had music and grape stomping... And yes the girlfriend made me get in and stomp those grapes insuring blackmail for years to come. Lol. But the was amazing and really a shocker for Illinois. And I suggest you try a tasting and pick a good one you like and sit on there deck and enjoy the surroundings. Also worth mentioning is thee stuff, who are amazing and will help you pick though the expenseive wines they have. Also make sure you get a tour of the backroom and see how they do almost everything by hand or in small batches
Revisited the tasting room on our second trip to Galena because we loved our purchases last time. Tried new wines and loved them too. Great atmosphere, good wine prices, quality wine.
