I feel awe, it is a breathtaking view of the sea from the monument of the shrine. The church with crown of thorns around it is very meaningful. The drinking water free that has healing capability is available, free, 6 faucets gushing with water, it tastes nice.
Felt like I can talk to Jesus face-to-face. Beware of your children if your're going to visit this place during holy week because its very crowded. I've seen a lost child when we went here. Food is allowed inside the premises. Avoid wearing skirts and sleeveless to prevent hassles.

A perfect setting to renew and reflect. You should not miss this place, when in Cagayan de Oro. Its just a few minutes away from the City Proper. Public Transportations are available from the City Proper.
Divine Mercy is a must visit for the devotees. I'm not a devotee but i should say the place is beautiful and solemn. Ladies are not allowed to wear shorts and long pants. They are required to wear a skirt or a wrap around upon entering the shrine premises. Men are not allowed to wear sleeveless and slippers. They have schedules for entering the heart of Jesus every 2-3 hours and there is a 30 minute seminar before the climb. The view from the heart is very scenic. it has a majestic view of the Macajalar Bay and Cagayan de Oros City. It also have a very classic but modern concept of a church at the back of the huge statue of Jesus. The designs are very intricate and accordingly it was all made by the local artisans in the area. There is also a spring which it is believed that the water coming out has healing properties and miraculous. I was able to get a bottle and thank God it was cool. It was a fun walk around and it is very ideal place for the whole family especially with the Catholics.
The Divine Mercy Statue is located at the top of the Divine Mercy Hills in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental (-+ 15 minutes drive from CDO) Words is not enough to describe, what you see and how you feel, as you see the beauty of the surrounding area leading to the Divine Mercy Shrine. On either side of the pathway, the gardens has beautiful red, yellow, green and white flowers, all arranged in a lovely pattern. There is also healing waters from the water spring near the pathway on the right hand side. I used my time to pray and appreciate all the blessings that God gives. It is peaceful there. We attended mass afterwards, what stood out to me was the thorned roof of the church, the interior and exterior was designed so well. I went with my wife and in laws. They also supply you with a cloth to cover youself, my wife took one, as there is a dress code. There is gift shops and you can also get yourself something refreshing to drink. It's a must visit when you are in town.
Its 5 years since I last visited this religious site. I found it to be peaceful, restful and spiritual. The statue is seriously big and spectacular but in line with other with other contributors I must remark that it is a stiff climb up many steps to get to it. Temperatures here can reach 50C in April May and June and is really oppressive for us Northern Europeans. You MUST take some water or other liquid refreshments and if you are unused to such strong sun take an UMBELLA or parasol to keep the sun off, even the locals do that. The view from the top is sensational. Well worth the trip out to visit.
A 5 minutes drive from the main highway of El Salvador city proper. A parking lot for private cars and stairs for people wants to walk going up to the shrine. The garden is well maintained and the view from the top is very relaxing. A catholic mass and religious routine of praying into the top of the shrine where the sacred religious relic is place happened daily. Be aware of wearing short shorts but there are robes available for every visitors. Heres the catch. 5 minutes drive from the shrine is where the dairy processing facility is located. They sale different milk bar flavors, choco milk is the most popular and other milk products.
Its located in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental. It is much closer in Laguindingan Airport than Lumbia. You need to wear a long skirt to avoid being required to wear their sarong. Sleeveless are also forbidden. After the mass, you need to attend a short (non-english/non-tagalog) seminar before going up.
The grounds were impeccable, and the children selling prayer candles were cute but I felt somewhat sorry for them. The dress code was rather odd and I was required to wear these strange pants that looked very odd in the photo. But it was well worth the visit. I would like too see the statue at night.
