Lovely, clean and well maintained boat. Ride was at least an hour long for a small fee ($10.00). Captain was owner and crew member (son) were professional but very friendly. Captain gave an informative guided tour ride with some interesting little known details. Overall, it was a great way to spend a relaxing hour with nice people.
Very pleasant, polite, and informational. Loved the ride and the information given was very interesting. Would recommend it if you are in the area. The price is well worth it!
Were in Frankenmuth for an afternoon and after exploring the main drag we came across the Bavarian Belle - an authentic Mississippi River boat. It was just getting ready to leave so we jumped on board. It was the best hour we had and well worth the $20. Captain Jene and his sons treat you to a very entertaining & informative trip on the river. I recommend springing for the bag of popcorn. It's delicious and fun to feed the ducks - who chase after the boat for the treat. There are other things to do in Frankenmuth but if you can only do one take a trip on the Bavian Belle
For $10 adults this hour steamboat ride is relaxing. The narrator is very good. They have drinks and snacks on board and yes the popcorn is really good. Take a little time out of your shopping day and take a ride on the steamboat!
This tour was amazing! Especially at their low cost! The staff was friendly and answered all my curious 9-year-old's questions!
I took a (first) date to Frankenmuth for the day and we took a ride on the Bavarian Belle Riverboat. The boat was in top shape, the crew personable and informative and the fare was quite reasonable. It was very relaxing to cruise up the river and back and see the area from a different perspective. All in all, a great experience. BTW, I'm 60 and she is 56 but judging from the passengers the attraction appeals to both young and old. A must see (and do)!
WE spent a nice time on the Belle.. very informative, relaxing and enjoyable.. I would recommend this trip to any adults or older kids.. Not really for little children,, but I am sure they would enjoy the boat ride any way.. WE learned several things while on the trip.. Very glad we took it
For the low price, expected this river cruise to be cheesy - but it was wonderful! Narration was full of fun & historic facts. Loved it is a family run business of 3 generations. Would definitely recommend. Relaxing break from all the commercialism of Frankenmuth.
This was a relaxing way to spend an hour while learning interesting things about the area. We had the 4 p.m. cruise on a Satruday in October and there were maybe 10 other people on the boat besides our party. It was very cold on the top deck, which is open, but nice and warm on the bottom deck, which is enclosed. Soft drinks were a very reasonable $1.00. They have captain's hats and pirate's hats for kids for $5.00. The restrooms were very clean and modern. We weren't worried about our little kids falling overboard because the way the railing is done, they can't squeeze through and there are no gaps. There are large tables to sit at and that works well for the kids who don't want to sit for that long. I have to admit there's not much to entertain the kids once they've seen the paddlewheel. The sites along the river and the narration are more interesting to the adults. Note that they don't take credit cards.
In June 2014, my husband, daughter, and I enjoyed the one-hour tour of historic Frankenmuth on the Cass River on the Bavarian Belle, a beautifully restored riverboat. This informative and humourous tour was narrated by the captain, Jene Quirin. The150-passenger stern-driven paddlewheel riverboat has an open-aired canopied upper deck and fully enclosed lower deck, is handicap accessible, and tour tickets are reasonably price, as are the onboard snacks. I highly recommend this tour isn't missed!
