Small museum for a small town but a very interesting collection well set up. It is worth a visit since you will be at Pioneer Park anyway.
It has a little bit of all of it in there. They have all sorts of items on display and will tell you about all of it if you ask them. It is a self guided tour and that is what makes it unique.
Se encuentra dentro del Pionner Park, es muy chiquito pero tiene de todo y en particular mucha historia de la aviación de Alaska. Muy buen lugar.
Coming from a family of Active duty military and aeronautic nerds, I have been to more than my share of military museums and air museums. I was impressed with this collection. Much better than I expected after walking around the exhibits in Pioneer Park. If you like airplanes, this is a must visit place in Fairbanks.
The Pioneer Air Museum is a great place to learn about the history of aviation in Fairbanks and Interior Alaska. There are many interesting displays and complete aircraft to view.
Great place for aviation lovers and other visitors to Alaska! This is housed in a round building inside Pioneer Park, also called "Alaskaland" by some locals.
This place was really cool because the boys could climb on the some of the aircraft and really check them out. They learned a lot there.
It may look old to some but there is so much history crammed into this really cool shaped building. Take a good amount of time to look through it all and watch the movies they have playing.
We spent a whole afternoon there, and there was something for the entire family. There is miniature golf for all of us, a little bit of history for the parents, and a nice train ride for the kids. Plus some of the booths sell some really nice hand-made keepsakes.
Enjoyed the many historic displays, although some areas were cluttered and signage was lacking or in the wrong locations.
