As fellow reviewer put it, I felt compelled to write this review due to one negative review I read about this campground. First off, I have no idea what the negative reviewer was talking about regarding the restrooms. I have been to this campground several times, and their entire campground, including the bathrooms/showers are clean. The staff are friendly and quite helpful. Just ignore that reviewer's comments. They're way off.Okay. Now we can talk about the positives. What keeps me coming back is the beauty of this place. You are camping amongst the redwoods with a small creek meandering through the center of the campground. I have always RV camped here, but they offer cabins or tent camping, too. Very family friendly place. It's just a short drive to Santa Cruz boardwalk where we take our daughter every time we visit. Hiking trails surround this place. So be sure to take advantage of that. There's also a train within walking distance of the campground that will take you down to Santa Cruz for the day. And did I mention wine tasting is nearby? In short, this is one of my favorite campgrounds. So don't pass it up.
Last July we came here after we - last minuted- attempted to stay in the state park. We had to get an RV spot for our tent since that's all they had.Staff was very friendly. Got a nice space tucked away in the corner. Fire grill and table were in good shape. Had enough room for 2 tents. Beautiful setting. Bathrooms were fine. Trails lead right into state park- very convenient for day hikes. Sites are very close to each other and the place was packed - neither am I used to. But it was no big deal. Going back next month!
I recently moved to the area and was fortunate to find a space in Cotillion Gardens. The staff Lorraine and Kris are amazing people and truly professional. You couldn't meet two nicer individuals in your life. They care about the Park, the People and your experience as a customer. It has been my observation that The majority of customer's come here year after year, generation upon generation. take the time to visit.... you will not regret it. I guarantee..... Frank Murphy.
I felt compelled to write this after reading N8urlvers remarks about this RV park. We have been going to this park for years and have never had any problems of the sort he/she is describing. Yes of course you will see the occasional raccoon or skunk scurrying about...but let's pause and think for a moment - you are in the woods, trees and vegetation everywhere. And, not to forget, we are in their domain. If you cannot handle wildlife you might want to stay in a nice hotel...just saying. As far as the bathrooms are concerned, I know and have seen them getting cleaned as well as restocked at least twice a day. The bathrooms at this park are certainly cleaner than any other RV park we have stayed in and we have stayed at a good number both in this state and many others. The staff goes more than out of their way to provide a clean and pleasant environment. Rude people??? What rude people? If you re referring to the staff than you must have been at some other park and just confusing the dates. We have always had the best experience with the staff and other people at the park. Staff was always very forthcoming, polite and helpful. I guess for some people nothing is good enough.
This camp ground is very nice and clean with lots of features for the children. However the management and staff are horrible, unprofessional and lack people skills. We simply complained about the power going off at our RV hookup and were told they had just worked on it and would fix it. Well it happened again and WOW, from that point on we were yelled at and told because we were a problem they would kick us out. When we gave our opinion that they had horrible customer service and people skills and would not be coming back they forced us to leave immediately. This was totally unacceptable and even though we had small children and a long drive ahead of us at 4 pm, we left to avoid further ridicule and harassment. DO NOT go to this park. There are several other camp grounds just as nice with Professional and courteous staff.
This is a Rv and campground. We have a tent trailer which they have some tent sites as well and the setting in the redwoods is lovely. They have bathrooms and showers. They also have a pool and playground. It is in the town of Felton, and backs up to the Henry Cowell Redwoods. There are many hiking trails through the redwoods. It is approximately about a 45 minute to 1 hour drive to Santa Cruz and the ocean. They show family movies int the clubhouse on the weekends. There is also a few video games and ping pong table. They have a small store for ice, and a few other things. The staff are friendly and work continuously.
A last minute trip to Santa Cruz left me searching for a place to camp. Many places were full due to some kind of mountain music festival. I was told of this place by one of the folks at Roaring Camp. Mainly an RV campground, they do have a few tent sites. Beautiful location, just on the very edge of Henry Cowell Redwood park. The Staff was very helpful both on setting up my reservation and upon arriving. Everything was clean and tidy. They have a pool, a small game room with a pool table and some arcade games, a small play ground for the little ones. Close to Santa Cruz but far enough away to get away from the crowds. A great place for a base camp to explore the whole region. As far as the very few negative reviews I found..... Bathrooms were very clean, and, the person that complained about raccoons???? What do you expect??!! You're in the woods. I did make the mistake of leaving some food trash out the first night and was woke up about 2am by one. My fault, not the raccoon or the camp's. If you are tent camping request site T2, its a little larger than T1, both are along a little creek. Any time I'm going to this area I will be staying here. Loved it.
This RV park has a very scenic setting. The state park is right behind this RV park and that's where the positives end. The staff upon check in said you had to pay with cash or check to get the Good Sam discount. They were rude and unprofessional. There are the smallest, most confined campsites we have ever seen. The sites were so confined that I had to wait to dump my septic tank until after my neighbor finished his breakfast no more than 6 feet away. Most of the people we spoke to while we were there had the same complaint of feeling like sardines. We will never stay at this RV park again.
Just got an RV and was able to reserve space at this highly recommended, camp ground. Set in the Santa Cruz mountains, and right next to Henry Cowell State Park, this is really a beautiful facility. Red woods everywhere, people were friendly and helpful. We will be coming back and riding the trains. TJ
This will be our 4th annual trip to CG and we LOVE it! We have a big family group that goes every year and we can't say enough. The grounds are well taken care of, the bathrooms are cleaned twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Swimming pool is super clean and the kids play ground is in excellent condition. It's very quiet in the evenings. 10 min away from Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and minutes away from Roaring camp railroad. Tons of trails close by for hiking and the Giant redwood state park is a 15 min away as well! There are some critters running around, racoons, squirrels and such. We did have a skunk wander into our camp ground but it was late and only a few of us were awake. He didn't stick around long when he saw us. All the other reviews about rats and other critters need to chill out! I mean hey it's the woods, if you dont want or can't live with the occasinal woodland creature don't go camping. If you like nature, you love this place! Also to get a really good spot you need to book in advanced, WAY in advanced. This place is sold out every year during the spring and summer months so that, in itself, should tell you the quality of this place. Every year we have gone in the summer not 1 camp site is empty. We will be making reservations for 2014 before we leave!
