I must say the course is pretty good the management is horrible. We played in a captains choice my team is -6 after 7 holes an we are told we are taking to long and we have to skip a hole so we skipped the hole and stood on the tee box for 30 minutes waiting for two other groups to tee off. Just absolute idiots, I will never step foot back on this course go down the road to Springfield.
Really enjoy playing here. It is a great bargain. Course alsways seems to be in good shape. They are making some changes now so it will probably be better.
Everyone was very friendly and the course is really pretty and challenging
When I made the tee time I was told the rate would be $28. I had been informed that a group of 8 or more qualifies for a group rate. I made 4 tee times, but cancelled one the day before our scheduled times. When I arrived at the course I was informed that we now did not qualify for the group rate, our rate was now $32. If you want to play this course you should go now. I doubt it will last much longer. Other than our group, I only saw three other players.
I played nine holes with my grandson and had a ball. The course was in good shape while the greens were ok but were really fine for our style of play
On reading some of the reviews here I can't believe we were playing the same course. Perhaps it was because we were playing in the off season? The course was in great condition and was certainly challenging. We didn't have any problems with over zealous rangers at all but we also play fast. To be honest there's nothing we hate more when we're golfing than waiting to hit, watching people squatting down, lining up their putts for ages, only to miss and repeat the process over again so we're not really against rangers moving play along if warranted. We played as a twosome and it was wonderful. Best of all, I sunk a birdie and beat my husband for the first time ever! So maybe this review is biased. All the staff we met at the course were very friendly to us as well and we really enjoyed our visit there.
Played the middle of June with four other groups and we never had trouble with the marshal. The greens were in very nice shape and putted true, the fairways were in fair shape but the bunkers had not been raked that day. A major problem for me was there was water was only available on the first and tenth tee and a bathroom and water fountain were on one hole on the course. It was in the mid-90's and water should have been more plentiful. There was no refreshment cart and they could have made a killing off of Gatorade that day. It is worth the fee and it will be a regular in my rotation of course in the area.
the golf course was in great shape i found it to be very well maintained ground crew was very nice, the starter was a very kind man did his job well.... now for my few words.... our tee time was at 8:09the starter came up to the group that was ahead of us and told them that there was no one ahead and that may go at any time, and so they did (this was around 15 to 10 till 8:00) we show up at the starter at our tee time.... we get started... at around the 5th whole the ranger shows up tells us to pick up the pace because we are behind... ready golf and such .. we tell him that the starter let the group in front of us go at a earlier time.. he did not want to hear it,holds up his time sheet and goes on to tell us that we need to pic up the pace again... after he goes on we do a quick look about .. no one ahead that we can see no one behind that we can see... and we joked about his manner (not nice at all) by the 8th or 9th hole we see him again rides up pretends to check the water cooler my friend says hello , he says nothing..now louder my friend says hello again... finally says hello and goes back the way he came (which is from the clubhouse area) we make it to the turn grab a quick bite to eat and move on (still seeing no one ahead and none behind us) by the 13th hole we see him again this time he comes close and just turns around.... at the 16th hole the club house manager for what ever reason comes down the cart path see us and tells us that we are lagging WAY behind the other group is on the 18th green and that we need to hurry up our play .. we look back and still see no one behind us no one to be seen period..... by this time I'm sorry to say we lose our cool.. and i won't repeat the ugly words we had with him, but we say why are you getting after us? there is no one waiting on the tee box.... goes on to say don't worry about who's behind you catch up to the group that's ahead....and after a few more choice words from us he goes on.. needless to say the golf game is out the window and we are very upset....we finish whats left of our game..total time 4hours 20 mins ...I go into the club house and very calm this time ask why in the world would you do that to us? I go on to say again about the tee time the first group had and that we never seen the group behind after the 3rd or 4th hole...and he goes on to tell me again that i should never worry about the group behind us its all about keeping up with the group ahead....and he goes on to tell me that there is not a golf course in the world that would not have came up to us and asked us to pick up the pace.....is it me or am I missing something? please clue me in if i'm wrong ...in 25 years of golf ive never been harassed like this period..... and needless to say I will never be back again...
Out of town guest that loves golf and just traveled to The Master's loved this well maintained course. Doreen was attentive and very pleasant to deal with.
If you are a women please stay away from this course. I hardly ever write reviews but I had to after being mistreated so badly. The managers words and actions towards men and women playing his course are very different. The course also wasn't mowed along cart paths. Too expensive for so poorly maintained.
