Visited this shop with our tour guide Eddy. Such a huge array of hats to choose from! We even learned the history of the Panama (Ecuadorian) Hat. Very high quality.
Lindos colores!!
I purchased a Montecristi hat here and am very happy with my purchase. They had the right hat with the right size at the right price. The service was very good and the prices much more reasonable than purchasing a similar hat in the United States. They provided me with an appropriately sized hat box for my trip home.
This was a lot of fun, it is where they make the hats - we tried on just about every hat they had in the showroom! It was a little hard to find the entrance - you see the big colorful painting on the building but you need to go around to find the door to get in, we had to ask a few people. If you are going to buy a hat in Guayaquil this is the place to do it, we took a taxi from the hotel, taxis are a bargain so it's easy and cheap to get here.
Wide selection and price range, attentive and friendly service. NOTE: location is a little hard to find and usually only opens on weekdays and the odd Saturday. We totally lucked out and it was open when we went!
Increible variedad y hermosa presentacion.
Today, May 5th, 2014, my husband and I visited Ecua-Andino Hats to buy a genuine Panama Hat. We were given a tour of the store where they put on the finishing touches. There were all different styles to choose from, the classic to hats for golfing, caps and some more suited to a casual occasion as well as designer hats.. I bought two styles, a classic off-white with a dark brown band and a multi-colored crocheted hat for my gardening. I love them and the fact that they are hand made in Ecuador. The staff were very helpful in explaining the process of making the hats and the different qualities available to buy. I was able to walk around and try on hats in air-conditioned comfort and was able to make my choices in my own time without being rushed. The young lady who assisted us spoke English. To find the store on Google Maps use this address: Pasaje 7 NO, off Avenue Plaza Danin, opposite Parque Danin.
