Such a well laid out zoo. Such a fantastic place to visit and great value for money too. The cafe could offer a better range but still very satisfactory.
I took my Grandson there, and was thrilled with the display of all the animals. It was a fun afternoon
Awesome place to visit I go most years never get tired as they make changes all the timeExcellent family thing to do
If you haven't been for a few years the Hamilton Zoo is well worth a revisit. They have done a lot of work and if you get to the aviary first thing in the morning you will see many wonderful birds. This is a warm inviting family attraction.
a fantastic day out..very environmentally friendly for the animals..had some really up close and precious experiences..a picnic between the Meerkats and the Chimps was in beautiful surroundings
Visited early January when we had a spare day from travelling around North Island, really nice little zoo, loads of exhibits, were able to see lots of native birds, as well as exotic species, interesting talks took place on key exhibits and we were able to catch quite a few, easy layout to navigate and easy viewing areas for all animals, would definitely recommend to anyone who has a spare afternoon in the Hamilton area! Staff were located all around the zoo with information about exhibits, very welcoming!
The Free flight aviary there is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING !!! probably the best native species enclosure in New Zealand. Vary good encounters, Large enclosures make for an awesome time.
i have had two visits to the Zoo this January with grandchildren both times we had a fantastic time it was great to see the animals in as natural as possible environment.Hint take a pushchair if going with a toddler as it is quite a walk around the whole zoo and take a picnic to keep costs down.Cool on a hot day.
Beautifully laid out. Interesting gardens. The animals all look well looked after and have plenty of room.
A lovely zoo to visit. In my opinion it is comparable to Auckland zoo but without Auckland prices or Auckland traffic. It is a bit of a distance out from Hamilton City but it is worth the drive. Lots of animals, clean and tidy, posted feeding times and a nice big play area for the kids right by the main cafe. Food in the cafe is not exactly 5 star gourmet but is perfectly acceptable (we usually take our own picnic anyway).
