A nice little walk up an alley on a hill. Might be good in the evenings, but I think it was probably better a few years back.
This follows on from the pedestrianised mall on Last Chance Gulch and is, if anything, even more disappointing. Very short, very little retail or eateries and, truth to tell, the historic buildings just aren't that interesting. Hardly worth a special trip.
I would't go out of my way to visit this sight, but if it is nearby, it is worth an hour of your time.
nice walk. would add this to a list of sites to see while in Helena. lasted about 30 minutes and offered a nice glimpse into the history of the city
For history buffs, this short brick "alley" says a lot about the miners and entrepreneurs that settled Last Chance Gulch. I'm certainly thankful that Helena residents saw the historical significance of this residential block and saved for future generations.
Definitely a great place to walk around and see the Old Helena. Nice store and close to a great bakery and brewery
Reader's Alley is such a quaint and fun place to explore. It has a sordid past and is full of history and has the best dining around at The Stone House, which is a historical feat of its own.
Just rich in history in this area....love how they have preserved the authentic structures...and love to read about each place...can always find a parking spot....
I always walking through Reeder's Alley, it brings back memories for me. And the little shops were great too. I don't think I bought anything. But enjoyed visiting with the people who own the shops, and having a nice sunny walk
It has been restored beautifully. It is very informative and is nice to see historic buildings not torn down for progress.
