Excellent chocolates and fun shop to browse. Displays and items ( other than chocolate) change frequently enough to make shopping here every other month or so interesting (don't live here but drive through the area a couple of times a month)...definite "find" for chocolate lovers!
This historic old house in downtown HICO, TX is nice to look at, but the real reason to visit it that it's home to the best chocolate in the area. In fact, it's main attraction is that the family's own chocolate delights are on sale there - and they give out free samples. Worth a few minutes while driving through on Highway 6 or Highway 281. Located in Hamilton County, TX.
Traveling along Hwy 6, we saw this sign for Wiseman House Chocolates. Yum! We looked for it as we drove into town. Beautiful house. Charming! What was inside was even better. Their chocolates were just melt in your mouth delicious! We bought a few items, samples a few, too. Upon arriving home I promptly placed an order. A definite must!
The sample box is so yummy! you get 2 huge pecan clusters @ the bottom of the box. It can be expensive, but it isn't your russell stovers type of cheap chocolate. They make unique flavors also.
Specialty chocolate shop in Hico, TX? Really neat little shop with lots of interesting curios & such inside, not just chocolates. If you're driving through the area, it's worth a browse!
It's worth a stop and browse. They have a lot of neat things, some a little pricey, but interesting items such as fancy cups for drinking hot chocolate or coffee, a few different coffee flavors, candles, and alot of other gift items. The chocolates are hand made and are very good along with other candies. Great for stocking stuffers at Christmas. Stroll across the street to the Koffee Kup Restaurant and get a piece of their state renowned pies, Geeze Louise!!!
Stop here about once a year. Quite pricey but worth it. Hand made and homemade right here in Hico, Texas. Off the beaten path but worth a stop if passing thru. The Koffee Shop just across the street has good food and pies to die for.
chocolate is amazing pricey but the taste makes up for it. the fudge there was so good i couldn't stop eating it. you have my business i will be back
They have great chocolate that you can't buy at your grocery store. These are the kind of chocolate that I want to make a special time at the end of a day, to appreciate and enjoy the art of Chocolatier. They are not cheap, but if you are a kind of person who likes dark and rich flavor chocolate, this might be a place for your chocolate fix.And they have some cool stuff other than chocolates too. Wonderful smelling candles and soaps, cute aprons, nostalgic looking cards, and cool looking nic nacs... Inside this place, it looked like it just came out of magazine. Like somebody already wrote, you wouldn't think this sort of place in this little TX town.I personally, enjoyed even just looking around this place.
We were in Hico, Texas recently and stopped by the Wiseman House to address my chocolate hunger. Chocolate bark, chocolate covered fruit, truffles, chocolate covered nuts, and more. Still eating through everything purchased and all has been wonderful. Hubby would have liked to see more milk chocolate options but as a dark chocolate lover, I was very happy. These items aren't cheap but are very good. You can order online and will be getting items as Christmas gifts.
