Driving through the lake is always fun. We love walking the dogs through the park except for the tick inspection at the end of the walk. I don't do ticks. I point them out...Rick has to pull them. We had at least ten to fifteen on each of the girls. YUCK. Lake is nice, park is nice.
So much to do in this park. Don't miss the large animal enclosure. Our son loves to feed carrots to the buffalo and elk.Check their website for events and park features. Lots of great opportunities to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
We love to stay here on Lake Jacomo for the RV parking. It is enclosed and only allow campers and guests in. There are a number of camping sites with full hookups and plenty of room. We loved the view of the lake and also the wildlife that is nearby. We saw a flock of turkeys among other animals. We camped in a RV.
When the weather is warm, we really enjoy driving through the park since is always well kept. We have seen wild turkeys and many deer and it is the way to spend an afternoon.
This is a great place for picknicking, boating, walking and just enjoying the out of doors. Beautiful woods.
We like going to watch the model airplanes or just driving around the park enjoying nature.
Love the water part of the park the most!! I f you have kiddos it is a must!!
Just a drive through the park is great, but the lake is wonderful too. There is the Kemper outdoor center, and then there is the hooved enclosure, where you get up and close with the Buffalo and the Elk.
Lots of trails and places to explore. Multiple playgrounds and picnic shelters make this a great spot to spend the day. Pack a lunch and have a whole outdoor day!
I live near Fleming Park, in fact, I drive through it nearly every day. Very little has changed over the years and that's a good thing. The park is well maintained and very clean. There is fishing, boating, camping and swimming available to everyone. There are also game fields, archery and dog training areas, an Audubon center and a remote control plane field. Missouri Town 1855 is also in the park. There are plenty of shelters available for family reunions and parties. I love to drive over the dam at Lake Jacomo and see the geese, hawks, cormorants and even the turkey vultures. I have seen many a gorgeous sunrise and sunset over the lake. It is a beautiful, peaceful place.
