This park has been through a lot in the 30 years I've lived in the Waterloo-Wellington region. The last few years have seen rebuilding that has kept the classic look but made it better ! It's a lovely park to walk through year round There's a pond and island that you access over several bridges. Worth a visit !
I go at least once a week to walk here. Love it. So pretty... great atmosphere and feel safecwalking there.
a fairly nice park, has a small splashpad, be aware of your surroundings ......clean washrooms and some food vendors
Victoria Park ... always a place to go and find peace and quiet on a busy day. They have done some good fixing up the last few years, including the restaurant and music venue and the addition of washroom building. Decorative lights are an attraction in the winter, playground, water/splash park for the kids in warm weather. Lots of trees, a few islands, and ...well, you need to go to Victoria Park to experience it.
This is a beautiful park. The city has done a great job over the years. Keep up with the tree replacements. Hope the boat rentals return with the newly renovated restaurant and music venue. Keep the flowers coming. Great place for people watching. The park also has new toilets.
What a wonderful little wonderland of bridges, sky-high trees, and constant community events in the summer! The lights safe up now so its a lovely walk with someone special (and LOTS OF LAYERS!! haha! ... I can't wait for the Boathouse to come back because it was such a great patio in the summer time! I appreciate all the hard work that went into trying to clean the lake there but its so difficult to maintain with all of the returning ducks and geese. Regardless, its lovely!
Great stopover after church - after supper - on a really hot day for the kids to cool down. Family gatherings - reunions - come early to hold a series of picnic tables. Beautiful grounds - and cool places to rest - big big beautiful trees and lots of shade to stop time.
Whether you have kids who want to play in the park or splashpad or you simply want to walk and enjoy nature, this park is for everyone. Beautiful scenery, trails, wildlife and more!
Victoria Park in the centre of Kitchener is an ideal place to spend time with the family or just walk around or sit in a quiet area and read a book. Well maintained park with a large pond that meanders through it.. There are a couple of islands with with connecting walking bridges. It is very relaxing to sit on a bench and watch the many ducks and the couple of swans swim in the water. The children also love the large play area complete with a water pad on those hot summer days or just climb, swing and slide in the playground.Bring a lunch and enjoy an outdoor meal on one of the many picnic tables. There is a beautiful clock tower so relax on the steps and enjoy sitting by the small peaceful pond with waterfalls. There is also a little museum with some history of the park and area free of charge which I believe is only open in the afternoons on the weekend. There are many festivals to enjoy in the park in the summer including the great rib fest cook off.Pre-book a hot air balloon ride from the park for a scenic ride over the city and adjoining countryside for some fantastic vies.Just a great place to enjoy the open air spaces.
Always nice in the day as long as you avoid some of the locals that tend to drift through. Avoid the area after dusk.
