It was my first time attending this venue and loved it. The interior is beautiful and the acoustics are very good. The only thing I didn't like is how crowded it is to get out. Once the event is over, it is not built to get people out quickly. That is a minor thing though and it shouldn't keep you from visiting.
Music was great. Debussy and Mozart in the first half and then the Planets. Great percussion and direction. Thanks for the memory
My daughter and I were visiting Kansas City on the week end of 4/12/2014. We love to go to the symphony and decided to give Kansas City a try. The music was wonderful and symphony hall is beautiful. It's fairly small, every seat has an excellent view. I would definitely attend another performance when we are in KC again.
The whole experience at the Kauffman Center was state of the art. Kansas City has done themselves proud. My Husband was a professional violinist for 50 years, has played in very famous orchestras and with great stars. He agreed this was first class.
The symphony is always awesome and now they play in the one of the best venues in the country, the Kauffman Performing Arts Center. You can even sit behind the symphony and hear perfectly. The members enjoy thier job and it shows in their performance.
Beautiful building, beautiful theater. Acoustics are amazing, Maestro Stern is a joy to watch work. Came 7 hours for Joyce DiDonato and loved every minute!
Came to see the Indigo girls with the KC Symphony… It sounded beautiful… The Symphony add a layer of beauty to an already fabulous sound. Really enjoyed it!
The Center has great seating, great acoustics, and is a great home for the Kansas City Symphony. We attended the opening weekend and this was to see Joyce Didanoto perform with the symphony. She blew us away but the bigger surprise was the outstanding sound that came from the symphony. It was so good we plan to return to KC just to hear them again. Looking for some culture and great entertainment? This should be considered!
We enjoyed the holiday show, however we would have enjoyed more traditional holiday offerings. Regardless, the music was excellent!
An afternoon or evening of music doesn't get any better than hearing the Kansas City Symphony perform in Helzberg Hall - or hearing them perform in front of Union Station Memorial Day weekend for their annual Celebration at the Station. In my opinion, this is the best run and best sounding symphony in the entire Midwest.
