We thoroughly enjoyed flying out of their Custer location. The MASH helicopter tour with Taylor was so amazing we came back later in the day and flew the 206 Jet Ranger!!! Smooth ride with best views of the Black Hills!!! Thanks guys!!!!!!
Class act! We know helicopters, and these folks are operating equipment in excellent condition. My husband is a helicopter pilot, and he was impressed with our tour pilot's skill. I just thought she was really friendly and made the flight a lot of fun. Helicopters are expensive, so this isn't cheap - worth every penny! Mount Rushmore from the air is a very different experience than seeing it from the ground. Cheers to these folks.
Our first day touring the black hills we decided to pop in and see if we could take a ride. We had never flown before...EVER..this was the first time. The staff was the BEST and our pilot was amazing. We seen so much! We toured around Crazy Horse as well as Mount Rushmore and got to see so much! I highly recommend doing this. I didn't find it overpriced at all... you get what you pay for and that was a once in a lifetime thing for us!
It was our first helicopter ride and loved it. Mark, our pilot, was really nice and explained where we were all the time along with history of each site. It was really windy but Mark told us ahead of time in each spot that we might feel the wind more and why we couldn't fly lower and closer to the faces at Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. He made us feel very comfortable. We went on the 35 minute tour and was happy with that choice. We are really glad we decided to spend the money and get brave enough to take the ride in a helicopter.
Our pilot was very talented. Not a rough patch in the air! His name was Taylor. I would love to fly with these guys again!! I did Custer State Park, Crazy Horse , and Mt Rushmore. We saw all these great attractions in one flight!!!
*Badlands Tour*I decided on a whim to do this with my 2 children (9 and 7) and am so glad I did. We did the cheapest package at $49/person and it was well worth it. I am not a fan of heights (had to stop on Notch Trail after the ladder on the 1st ledge to turn around...) but the staff was so excellent I felt at ease. Kind, no pressure salesmanship, and passion for what they do can't be denied. Perfection all the way around. Highly recommend.
Pulled in at the last second to take a look. We had 2 children with us and didn't want to overly spend so we opted for the $49.00 special. It was so worth it. My boys actually got to go up twice because of the limited space. Dad flew first, I flew second. They've talked about the ride all day. My 4 year old loved the headphones and looking at the 'tiny cars.' Two thumbs up to the lady who flew us. We saw Crazy Horse from the air and it's actually better than going there.
We went face to face with Mt Rushmore . Saw crazy horse at a birds eye view. Our pilot was knowledgeable about the area, informed us about things as we flew over . was expensive but worth it for a once in a lift time experience.
We took a Black Hills area helicopter ride to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. What a great trip! My husband was grinning the entire time. We couldn't have had a better chopper pilot (Jim)...informative and fun. We saw Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Lead mines, Harney Peak, etc. Searched for Mountain Goats and suprised a few Antelope. It was a blast!! The pictures and video from my Android phone came out much clearer than I thought they would. Had I known that, I would have taken more pictures. If you just want to feel what a helicopter is like, take the cheap trip. If you want to really see something, save the money and go for a #6 or #7 adventure. After all, how often are you going to do something like this?
My wife and I got to take a flight in a Robinson R44 over Mount Rushmore with pilot Mike. The flight was superb and we got really good views of Rushmore and Keystone. Mike, the pilot, gave us information about Rushmore that we had never learned before. All in all it was a great tour and we would recommend it to anyone traveling the Black Hills.
