We really liked visiting the boat. The kids were kind of scared by the mannequin and we laugh a lot because of this. I liked to see up close how the boiler worked with the big piston actuator in order to get the wheel in motion. The passenger cabin are so top shape . The wood floor with it's dual tone complex pattern was a piece of art by itself. Some patient people have worked to build this.I' glad I've it, it was like walking 100 years back in time.
Wow Kaslo has history , the whole town is very charming!! The boat is magnificent!! this attraction is well worth the time to go to!!This is a self guided tour and you can taking your time !! There is a lot of nice pictures of the old in the visitors centre!! make sure to spend some time in the visitors centre lots of information there!!
You can't miss this attraction in Kaslo. Also, check out the museum in basement of the attraction office.
the self-guided tour was quite fascinating and I so enjoyed the experience of imagining what life was like back in the Moyie's heydey!!!
Awesome restoration and the story gives a huge education on the development of BC, the geology and the geography. So sad this was the only one that survived from a very important part of our history. Loved all the K&N railway history as well.
renovated to a very high standard, and visitors can roam just about anywhere on the ship, even down to a car livestock and chef
It was Pirates Day on the of our visit! If you come dressed as pirates, you get a discount! My children had fun. Games, hunting game, draw a treasure map etc. The ship is well kept with many interesting information. We can imagined how the travellers on this boat eat, sleep & being entertained onboard!
We all enjoyed looking round the steamer and imagining we were passengers aboard during its heyday. Take time to go round the boat if you visit Kaslo.
Every few years I go through the SS Moyie and I always leave there so pleased. Never a disappointment and they do add more artifacts. What a bargain. I will go back again.
Worth the time to explore. It has been restored to show how it would have been in the early days including vehicles and other cargo.
