Loved the White Mountains. Such beauty with the foliage, the water. You need to visit in the fall. All the sites are clearly marked making it easy to know where you want to stop.
My first trip to New Hampshire and I have fallen in love with White Mountain National Forest. From The Kancamagus Highway to Mount Washington. The rocks, rivers, foliage, and wildlife are absolutely amazing. I saw my first moose! A majestic but scary beast. So big. Lots of hiking trails and beautiful photo ops. One week is not enough here so I will definitely be coming back. Also, New Hampshire food is to die for!
many different activities including zip lines, hiking, scenic chairlifts and amusement parks. Great restaurants to choose from.
Outside of the Rockies the nicest mountains in the States, Very accessable, great views and awe inspiring. Well maintained parks.
You just have to visit to appreciate it. Fall is stunning. The colors, smells, views. Make sure and look up all of the local waterfalls to fully enjoy your trip.
A drive through the White Mountains of New Hampshire is so beautiful. Driving east from Lincoln along the Kangamangus Highway and then taking Bear Notch Road towards Barlett is quite the ride in the country. Bear Notch Road is closed in winter, however. From Barlett, proceed along 302 and then route 3 towards Cannon Mountain towards the natural attractions down that way...It's lovely. Highly recommended!
We had planned to climb The Rattlesnakes but the weather was misty and damp so we went through Sandwich Notch. Not recommended for the average sedan!!! A stop at Beede Falls was fun and only cut short by rain.
Beautiful during the fall months. We got to see the leaves on the trees in all their vibrant colors. Went to Mt. Washington, but it isn't cheap! The entrance fee for a car and the driver is $28 and each additional passenger is $8. This made our trip to this site expensive. Beautiful drive up to the top, and unfortunately, it was fogged in but worth the drive.
I can think of few places have been that have moved me as much as NH and camping in the White Mountains. Anytime of year here is beautiful in its own way. There is so much to do and see and everything's i go back i discover something i never saw before, making every visit feel like a new experience. I recommend this as a family destination, a romantic destination, an adventure destination, a winter, spring, summer & fall destination, and an outdoor activities/sports destination. The White Mountains have it all and then some.
The White Mountains are amazing. The scenery is incredible. In the spring everything is lush and green and in the winter, white and tranquil. We love all seasons in the White Mountains. Lots to see and do.
