Our first trip to Ludington and we were pointed to Waterfront Park. Our boys loved the playground and the view was gorgeous to look at as we watched them play.
Was there over labor day weekend and the beaches were not overly crowded. The water was wonderful & the beach was so clean. Lots of picnic tables and grills. It was fun seeing the badger come into port.
walkable, friendly, clean, safe, interesting, nothing to dislike here. Lots of family fun. would take the family back
For anyone who enjoys lighthouses and what it symbolizes, this is the haven: There is a set of lighthouses in this park, which is different from most other places that only have a couple of them within close proximity of each other. I started to count these symbols of guidance and hope as they twinkle in the dark, and really had fun doing this. Enjoy!
It is a cute park with a beautiful waterfront. I especially liked walking out on the pier. It is always well kept up and well tended to.
If you have the time and the weather is pleasant take a walk to waterfront park. In fact have a burger or lunch at the Grand then walk to the park. The park is very well maintained, has a nice play area , amphitheater with restrooms. There is no beach at this park (stearns park has the beach) but it borders the ludington and harbor view marinas and borders the ludington channel. If your walking to this park, it's really best approached from the east at the foot of Foster, walk past the marina on your left and the nice condos on the right with it's flowered walking path. Then suddenly the park comes into view, the hilly area and amphitheater on the right. You'll probably hear kids running about or playing on the playscape as you approach, you'll most likely see a local or tourist walking a dog or two and it's a nice viewing area to watch the badger come and go.There are a few benches for book readers and others to just sit and enjoy the view of the channel, watch a sunset from a different vantage point then the boat launch park or stearns beach..
We enjoyed a nice one mile walk to the lighthouse and back. Then came back in the evening for the gorgeous sunset. The whole waterfront area with the beach, marina, playground areas and parks are well done
This is such a pretty spot. Miles and miles of sandy beach. Soft white sand and beautiful water. You just pull off the road and the water and shore is right there. Perfectly wonderful. Be sure to visit the lighthouse. Relaxing and calm. Very casual. The town itself is touristy and prices reflect that. Beaches are worth the drive.
Between the lake & harbor is a great green space that is well manicured w/wonderful sculptures. Nice.
Agreed with the other ends about this place. It's cute, nice, and fun to visit. Just an all around neat place. Probably even better in the summer.
