We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights and were very happy with the stocked kitchen, nice shower, comfortable double bed, couch, rockers, fireplace, picnic table, outside cooking area and more. Wood is provided for the fire in the fireplace. The staff is very accommodating and very helpful. The road out to the park is not very smooth. Nothing much in town to do but the park is nice and relaxing. We took day trips out on the Harley.
My grandson and I spent a couple of nights here (13-15 Mar 13). The cabins were well maintained and the views of the lake were nice. The docks behind the cabins need a little TLC. The weather was nice but there were no fish biting which was a little disappointing
We spent the night in one of their RV spots. It's a beautiful park, and the campgrounds are well maintained. The park attendants are very friendly and helpful. The sun was at a bad angle when we arrived and it was hard to see to back into our spot and the attendant was right there to help. Wish we had been able to stay longer. We'll be back.
We spent the night at one of the cabins in Lake Chicot State Park. Our check-in was quick and efficient. The television in the first cabin we were given did not work. We were promptly moved to another cabin with a working television. Our view of the lake was beautiful at sunrise and sunset. We ate dinner in Greenville, MS, the only drawback was the length of the drive around the lake to get anywhere. But the views and wonderful people made up for it.
I tent camped for two weekdays in early October. Only a handful of other campers. Very nice grounds, spotless bathrooms, and the staff is very friendly. There is a boat launch on the lake which I used when kayaking. WiFi was unreliable when I was here.I'm guessing this park is very busy during high season. Glad I was here when it was quiet! Highly recommend during low season!
One of best. Receptionist did a great job of selling Arkansas. Had the answer to every question. Restroom was clean. Provided all kinds of brochures of many interesting places to visit.
My wife and I stayed here for one week in September 2012. This park is not nearly as nice as other Arkansas state parks. Several docks on the lake are rotting and cannot be used. We took the guided boat tour of the lake and the seats on the boat were rotten and cracked. There is not much to do here if you don't fish. Poorly maintained park. I do not plan to return here.
I like to go look at the lake in the summer when there is a breeze blowing after my dinner at Fox's Pizza ... yeah the steaks!
The lake is beautiful, the visitor center has nice year round events, there is a swimming pool, hiking trail, bicycles for rent, store and marina as well as fishing and other lake activities.
We were the only ones camping there in February with our coach. They have two pull throughs and lots of beautiful roomy campsites in the trees with picnic tables and fire rings - paved roads. The Boat ramp and marina include a fish cleaning site. There are nature trails, a swimming pool (summer), playground and the "office" has battlefield dioramas and local wildlife displays and live alligator.
