We have been to this theater a least a dozen times & have never been disappointed,. We have seen some of the AMT original shows, The Christmas Show, Chicago, America, Christopher Cross, The Little River Band and Orleans. There are really no bad seats here. Parking is free, restrooms are exceptionally clean, concessions are reasonable and there is a small gift shop too Before attending a concert here we enjoy shopping at the outlets across the street and having lunch or dinner at the many restaurants along RT 30 (Lincoln Hwy). While this venue is about an hour and 20 minutes from our home, it's still much easier than seeing a concert in Baltimore (only 40 minutes from our home) paying $8.00 to go through the tunnel & $25.00 to park & then getting stuck in the garage for almost a hour trying to get out. I'll take the AMT in Lancaster any day. The seniors they have working here are all so nice & can get you in & out of the parking lot fairly quickly & in an orderly fashion.
We went to see The Blue Man Group on a Friday evening. The sound and lighting was phenomenal. It was our first experience going to this Theatre. Parking was easy, and getting out of the parking lot was surprisingly easy considering it was a sold out show. The Theatre is clean and well laid out. I can honestly say that I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. We were in the balcony. Second row. I didn't have to lean to see past anyone's head! Wish they had turned on the ventilation system well before we got inside, though. It was extremely warm in the balcony and some poor woman passed out. The theatre is close to many restaurants and other attractions. I will definitely be back.
Celtic Woman can't give a bad show. The faces change, but always a winner. AMT is excellent venue. We were in 6th row, side. Sound was perfect. Family enjoyed it. Plus, since I knew where seats were, and I knew there was plenty of handicapped parking, I parked right outisde of the exit and we were out of the lot in five minutes!
Voted top small venue and it shows with top of the line performances and a great diversity of shows. Sound system is excellent, seats are wide and comfortable, staff helpful, and each show is high quality.
Great experience for those of us that grew in the 50's and 60's.Music that come from the heart and serves all times.Go and close your eyes and drift back in time.
I purchased tickets and went to Dwight Yoakam concert on 3/5/15. The night before they had 8" of snow and the show went on...The parking lot was semi clear. Great place to see any show.lDefinatly a fav.
A night of musical memories of the 1060's at the "British Invasion Tour". We loved everything about the American Music Theater. The ease of purchasing tickets online, great parking organization, kind and friendly staff, comfortable seats and a show of which we will NEVER forget!! thank you especially to the American Music Theater for keeping prices low enough that we can all enjoy the shows.Just an AWESOME night!!
We went to the Doo wop Calvacade on 2/28. Just like all the other shows we've seen at AMT it was wonderful! We took our mother there and she enjoyed reminiscing. Some members of the bands passed on by now but the music still sounded so good! The only reason I gave this rating a 4 instead of a 5 is that the lighting/set design was a little disappointing. For the first half of the show, there was a black backdrop with the band all in black and the singers were all in black. No color anywhere. When the Shirelles came on, her back up singers where in red which was the only color for the first half of the show. During Sleepwalker was the only time the stage changed, it looked like stars in the sky and was really pretty. I'm not looking for a neon light rock show, but it would have been nice to have a screen in the back showing pictures of people in the 50s and some of the cars. Change the color of the lighting once in awhile on the backdrop. Otherwise it becomes a little drab. The second half of the show, I don't know if it was by accident but there was a golden light on the Capris but then it disappeared. A suggestion, 50s trivia questions on the screen during intermission?????
This is a great place to see a show, not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are fantastic and the sounds a crisp and clear. Best of all, it's affordable! Tickets are reasonable and the refreshments are inexpensive by any and all measures. The bathrooms are spotless, really. If you haven't already, give it a try!
We recently attended a performance of Celtic Woman, which we enjoyed tremendously. They are good on TV, but fantastic in person. Note, however, that AMT is really challenged when it comes to parking. Going in there is only a single lane off of busy Rt 30 and when coming from the west only a few cars get thru on the green arrow. We were already committed to the left turn when the marquee said "lot full". Coming out there is a bottleneck in reverse. The traffic personnel do their best under the circumstances, but this place is challenging at best--there is not enough parking given the number of seats in the theater.
