This chateau was fab. There is loads to see, not only the chateau itself but also the beautiful gardens and there is often an exhibition in the grounds as well. There are toilets for free, a little cafe where you can get drinks, ponds, the river, an exhibition of carriages, plus the house. Also, there is a tunnel underneath the chateau that you can explore for free. You have to pay for visiting the chateau and the tour guide speaks in French, but you are given a translation to read. Beware, it closes from 12.00 - 2.00 as is common in France, but your ticket allows you back in on the same day. It is well worth a visit.
The Chateau and gardens are magnificent as the Chateau is off the main Chateau tourist area it is very quiet and not over crowded. so you have the chance to really study and enjoy the place
Lovely place with simple gardens. The tour inside was very detailed and busy. It was also guided, so it did limit time to take it all in and mooch about. Less flashy than many chateau in the area, but very cheap to get it in and well worth the money.
We were there for the Bastille firework display which was good even if 30 mins late in starting - possibly due to extra time in Football Worldcup final!
A lovely Chateau with beautiful gardens in a very pleasant town.Well worth a visit.A guided tour in English would have enhanced the experience but still very enjoyable.
Amazing with it's six round towers, charming with it's lovely gardens! Must be seen! A good example of French style and architecture throughout the ages.
Even if you don't go inside this is a beautiful building with a lovely and well maintained garden full of interest. The beds of roses, the collection of hydrangeas and the fine trees are a joy. The landscaping is remarkable and the sculptures add something even if not to everyone's taste. The amazing barn with wide stone spiral staircase is worth the climb, the small collections of carriages and harness of moderate interest. There are lots of little mazes, fun for children. Welcoming staff.
The Chateau is steeped in history which was well explained by a wonderful English speaking guide, Briony. The family living there now have done so much work and improved and refurbished so many of the rooms. It is incredible that they share it with the public, but do so with such charm and generosity. Well worth a visit.
Lovely to see a lived in yet authentic French chateau with an amazing kitchen, wonderful gardens. Our guide was really pushed as they were short staffed but a great visit with lots of interest to be seen
Loved the location and gardens. Chateau is quite impressive from exterior (we didn't go inside) Make sure you find the "caves" in the gardens under the chateau. We went into the orchard area even though it said Prive!
