We live to stop and see those odd little places as we're traveling to different places and, seeing the attraction in town, we stopped. BONUS it was right in historic 66. The girls thought it was cheesy (it was, but we enjoyed the short visit. We took a few pics and were on our way. The wagon is HUGE, but there isn't too much to actually do besides stand, smile, and leave.
This is just one of those roadside things that you should see if you are close. You can drive right up to it and take pictures as it is across the street from the Best Western and adjacent to the parking lot. It looks just like the pictures and there is a small plaque to read which gives some interesting information.
The biggest covered wagon in the United States. Driven by Old Abe Lincoln. Located in front of the Best Western Plus Motel.
This was something cool and easy to see. It didn't take a lot of time - very close to the Interstate for those passing through - and it was a fun thing to take pictures of.
Easy to find on the Old Route 66, this is a must see on your way through Lincoln. It is much bigger than one would think it would be. In a nice little area that you can pull off and have a quick lunch or a coffee. Abraham Lincoln used to pass through Lincoln on his way to various Court Houses when he practiced law. Stop and see the Worlds Largest Wagon with Old Abe sitting in it.
If you are traveling RT 66 this is a must stop. Lincoln is the only town named after our 16th president BEFORE he was elected. Get your photo taken with Lincoln on the world's largest covered wagon, a Midwest icon.
This is a good spot for a photo-op. It is always nice to see a bit of the older Americana that still survives along the roads.
Nothing amazing. :/ I cant say much more than that. Guess I need to have at least 100 characters....
It is really spectacular. A huge wagon with a giant statue of Abe Lincoln. You can park right next to it as it in front of the hotel in the parking lot. We took a lot of pictures. One of the many things you have to see if traveling along the historic Route 66.
Travel on Rt 66 is fun for so many reasons. This giant covered wagon was damaged in storms this year but is in perfect condition right now. Stop and take your pictures with Abe and be sure to stop by some antique shops.
