This is such a gem in Loveland. You are right in the middle of the city, yet you would swear you are in an outdoor paradise far from civilization. Beautiful!
Wide open spaces, blue sky, beautiful lake, great place for a bike ride or walk. Wear insect repellent just in case. West Nile virus is here but I have avoided them by consistently wearing repellent. Boaters and folks who like to fish love it here.
Boyd Lake has been a favorite of our family for many years. It has a large campground, great beach area with playground and concessions stand, a marina and small store, and a lot of walking/biking trails.
Nice Place with a lot to do if you like picnicking, boating, swimming, etc. Our granddaughter had her wedding out there and it was very serene and beautiful! Enjoyed it!
Large park with bathing beach (in summer) and miles of bike/walking trails. Exquisite views of the mountains from everywhere in the park. Large lake is divided into two parts - one for water-skiing and jet skiing, and the other for pontoon boats and fishing in a quieter atmosphere. RV sites are pretty big, but no sewer or water hook-ups available. Still very worth it.
The park is lovely. The camping facilities seem more RV-oriented than tent-friendly. Still, the bathrooms were clean. Didn't try the pay showers. Pretty lakeside location, but susceptible to strong winds as there are few trees to block storms.
We live 5 minutes from Boyd Lake and it is our go-to spot for frequent sailing. It is kept clean and with well groomed grassy areas. We also take our camper there for day trips. Electric hook-ups and clean restrooms; also a shower. The swim beach is very shallow and a good place for families. There is a main boat launch and a smaller one for the jet-ski area. Ample areas for picnics. The rangers are proactive about the rules. Would give this a 5-star rating except that we don't care for noisy jet skis, even though they do look like fun.
Probably should not tell you - but it is a great place for camping. The park is so nice and close to town. With a great path around the lake. We will be back!
The trails are my favorite. This Park is at the east end of the hike/bike trail that goes through Loveland. The paved trails are wide plus there are dirt trails with explanations of plants and trees. In the summer, there is a concession stand at the sandy beach. Looks to me like the large campground is full most summer weekends. Check it out!
We live in Loveland but we also camp in Loveland! We haul our camper out to Boyd Lake, where there is a swim beach, a park, restrooms with showers and really nice camp spots with fire pits and picnic tables. If you have camped with 3 young kids, you know that camping in the wilderness with no restrooms and nothing to do can be a challenge. So sometimes just to get away for 2 days, we love going here instead!
