I loved how this museum shows how culturally diverse Rotterdam is. Good temporary and permanent exhibits.
The museum is very well located right next to the Waterbus pier and Spido boats so you can easily visit it if you are planning a trip to Kinderdijk or a Spido boat tour. "Gold of Gods" exhibition was very well presented and included some truly stunning pieces of gold from Java. The permanent exhibition was a wonderful surprise, it has a very diverse collection, my favourite parts were Tibet and Oceania. Audio guide in English was included in the admission price. Highly recommended
We were given a tour of the Gold of the Gods exhibit before having dinner in the restaurant. It was fabulous! Don't miss it.
I've visited this museum when I was a kid, and decided to go back. The museum is located in a beautiful building and has a permanent collection and changing exhibitions. The permanent collection shows old cultures from around the world and is a must see when you are interested in history/culture. When you have the time, it is nice to take your time and walk around. The museum is not very big, but has a lot to offer if you take the time. The staff is very kind and helpful. And if you get hungry, I recommend visiting the restaurant that is located in the museum.
Was very impressive and presented on an interesting way, very unique and lovely historical building.
This museum is mostly filled with native art from all over the world. They also have a lot of different exhibitions, even though I must admit it's really a taste-thing. On top of the museum is a really good restaurant, can highly recommend that.
A museum review is always a bit personal and therefore people might strongly disagree. I went to this museum for their exhibition about the samurai. The exhibition was awesome and well put together. The rest of the museum features alot of native art from all over the world which just isnt really my cup of tea. If you are interested in these things I imagine you will have a nice time here.
The drawback is that photography is not allowed, which is very strange in this time and age given the importance (to promote the museum) of sharing photos nowadays.
Loved the exhiibits, beautiful building and store and wonderful destination restaurant. Don't miss going through all the floors and having coffee outside on the waterfront in the Bali house!
Not too big museum, with a static exhibition on old cultures in the far east. Changing exhibitions on two floors on specific themes. Off the beatn track. Nicely located. Nice lunchroom and very good restaurant.
