Spectacular day on a beautiful beach exclusively for our Chocolate Labrador ! We are very appreciative of the Muskegon County Parks for this beach access!
Off leash dog park on north end of beach. Quite a hike from the parking lot and the sand was hot. Recommend morning or evening adventure. Was great to play in the water with my golden retriever.
This is a great beach to take your dog. It's a disignated dog beach and there are dozens of dogs enjoying time on the beach with owners who clean up after them.
Like farther down in the shore, this beach was very clean - even though it is a dog-friendly beach. My puppy had the time of his life. It was great being able to take him to a place where we all had fun. Will definitely be heading back there!
Our cockapoo loved playing with his new doggy friends on the beach. My kids loved climbing the sand dunes. It was a hit with everyone.
I love this place. Our Jack Russel especially loves this place. Not many beautiful sandy beaches where one can roam free with your 4 legged friend. We live on the east side of the state and we take the 2 1/2 hour drive just so we can take the dog to the beach. Be prepared to walk down and up a lot of steps leading down to the beach, this may be hard for some people, but if you take your time you should be fine :-) I have not experienced the flys that some people have mentioned; however, I have only gone there in July and August. Oh, just make sure you clean up after your 4 legged pal... we need to keep this place clean!
I have two four year old Border Collies who love the beach and water. They chase the waves and run up and down the beach. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for providing such a wonderful space. Dog owners are frequently unwelcome. It is really great to have this first class beach as a place where we can take our dogs and have them enjoy this great experience. For first time visitors, take Rt 31 to exit 112 and go west on Sheridan to the end. Bare left to get into the park. You will be delighted. We are staying at the Duck Creek RV resort just off of exit 121 on Rt 31. You can be sure that we will be back after this discovery. Thank you again.
My friend and I bring our dogs here every few weeks and really love the area. When you first come into the park you'll walk down a winding trail or steps to the beach area with signs pointing to where you can have your dogs. It is a bit different from other dog beaches in that there are no fences. We usually let our dogs spend as much time in the water as they would like and then walk the trails while they dry off. The trails are mostly well shaded but a lot of stairs in most areas! The dog park does struggle with keeping clean, we haven't had any problems but other people mention complaints on a frequent basis so if you are bringing your dog make sure to bring bags to clean up after them and more for others if you can spare them!
This park is a hidden gem near Lake Michigan. There is a nice playground for the kids and nice bathroom and picnic facilities. You can climb up to the top of the dune on nice walkways and have a wonderful view of the lake. Well worth a visit.
I have two dogs; this park has a dog beach which allows me to walk them off-leash. They are in dog heaven; they both think they are so important--lol. As long as everyone picks up after their dogs (most do), the beach is clean and litter free; there are both steps and ramp from the parking area to the beach. The beach provides (on the left side of the snow fence) a firepit and a picnic area. on the right side of the snow fence, dogs are welcomed. be sure to bring your own litter bags to clean up after your dog. you have to have one on you at all times, so bring an extra. generally, there are some available at the parking area; however, I wouldn't count on those. The picnic facilities on the other side of the park (to the right when you enter the first drive), there is an outstanding picnic area, a nice playground, and bathrooms, etc. Overall, this is an excellent park to visit.
