I agree with other tripadvisors; this is a neat place to stay. Stayed in a one bedroom cabin3 nights end of October 2013. The cabin was great had all things we needed. appliances lookednew; the combination kitchen/living room area was spacious ;liked the flat screen TV.We sat out on the deck of cabin to drink our coffee. The woods back up to the deck;saw a deerone day from the deck. Park has good walking trails ; there are not a lot of restaurants nearby;so you might want to stock up at the Walmart in Alma,Ar. Overall the park is very relaxingway to spend some time. The staff at park were very friendly helpful
I took the kayaking tour across the lake with several other avid outdoors women . Made new friends and enjoyed a great first kayaking experience with a very knowledgable tour guide .Great day for some fresh air and relaxing on the water
Many crappie were caught in this lake. Great place to relax, paint, read, go for a boat ride... For athletes, some of the greatest hiking trails in US, Basketball. biking swimming...
This is an amazing campground. The facilities are top notch, the camp sites are perfect, smooth, well laid out and like new. We were able to rent a kayak and go on a two hour tour around a nearly empty lake (empty of people, not water!)The lodge is beautiful with a very nice back porch where you can sit in the rockers. There are nice paths and a bench at the overlook, where you can enjoy the lake from up above.I highly recommend this site for an enjoyable weekend.
Visitor Center, campsites, day-use area, marina, (everything!) is practically new and well maintained. All park staff we encountered were very friendly. The park is located in the rugged Boston Mountain area of the Ozarks and the scenery is beautiful. The lake was not as clear as I expected, but we were there shortly after a heavy rain.
For our family reunion we chose the Kingfisher Lodge. It turned out to be the perfect option. With 32 or so beds (and room for more sleeping bags on the floor fro small kids) it fit our family like a glove. In comparison to other state parks we've been to, it all seemed nearly brand new and very clean. On a Mon-Wed the lake was nearly deserted which was very nice and relaxing. The pool and pool play area was very good. For a large group you'll want to buy one of the multi-entrance pass options. the staff were all very helpful, pleasant and attentive. We wholeheartedly recommend this place!
If there was a way to rate 10 I would ! This is the MOST beautiful cabin in a state park ...or anywhere for that matter, that we have ever stayed. Huge rooms...kingsize bed that is SO comfortable. Fantastic deck with gorgeous teak furniture and view of the lake. Huge fireplace and great deal on wood. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want and the appliances are wonderful....blender, toaster, coffee maker...on and on ! The bathroom is luxurious...gorgeous towels and a huge tub with jets. Nothing was spared in building these cabins...nothing. It is amazing !! Make sure you buy whatever you want to eat and drink before you come " up the mountain" . There isn't much up here . Also dry county so stop across the river before you come into Arkansas :)
Nice relaxing place. Nice scenery. Plenty of outdoor activities. Nice swimming pool. It has boat rentals.
Great 2 nite stay. We stayed in cabin #9 and it was great. The staff at the visitor center were friendly. Cabin #9 is a two bedroom 2 full bath. Lots of room and it has a large covered patio in the back.
What a treasure, Lake Fort Smith cabin rentals. These are recently constructed, well equipped, and located on a scenic lake. Forget your key and open your cabin door lock with the last four numbers of your telephone number. When you step inside you will put city problems out of your cabin.Firewood is waiting, modern plumbing, and dish tv all in a very competitive price that a typical motel cannot matchThe sole tiny negative, no salt and pepper, but then this is cabin living.
