Take your family. It's a beautiful place for remembrance and a peaceful place to pray for those that have served.
D.C.'s may be more somber, but Munster's gives a more in-depth overview of the Korean War's effects and machinery. Flowery park setting is dignified, but tends to clutter the exhibit stations. Again, very well done - especially for an Indiana town location.
What was a pie shaped piece of land...now becomes a very interesting memorial...goes through the years of various conflicts with very realistic exhibits...a great tribute to American's soldiers.Free parking adjacent to the park. Statues done by well know Chicago artist...
The Community Veteran's Memorial is an outstanding monument to our armed forces throughout the major wars of the 20th century. Giving details of various battles and timelines it gives the viewer a heartfelt recount of our servicemen and women. Highly recommend spending the time.
This is a lovely place to visit when the weather permits. Great tribute to our veterans! The grounds are very pretty and well kept w/lots of flowers and manicured grass. Also time line bricks along the walk are a virtual history lesson. Purchased a brick for my son there, as he is an Afghanistan and Iraq veteran. A wonderful place to visit if you haven't been there.
Nice walk around a beautifully decorated tribute to the veterans. Spend some time and really look and read.
This is truly an impressive memorial to the veterans of all wars who have given so much to our country.
It brought tears to our eyes when you realize the sacrifice made by all veterans in all wars! We took our Boy Scout Troop here a. Few years ago and hearing the boys comments was priceless. This is a free attraction located just a few minutes down Calumet Avenue. Great tour bus stop. Great restaurants along the way or a few minutes past. There are life size sculptures and tribute bricks to pave the way of local veterans. This exhibit is about a block long and features a helicopter, hills, and various weapons used in the wars. Please stop by..open air with parking within a few feet. Great Job!
We stopped here on the spur of the moment and were amazed at the beauty and the thought that went into it. Thank you for a wonderful tribute to all that made it possible.
