we took our family (9 and 12) year old to Corpus on a Saturday afternoon. With the reservation system, the groups that enter are a nice size and this makes the experience more enjoyable. I would recommend Corpus very much, but would not go with (much) younger children. Also be aware of the parking: entrance and exit are very narrow.
Using stairs and elevators you travel through the human body, working your way up to the brains. In some parts they use 3D projections to show how a bloodcell travels throug the heart and the vessels. You travel in small groups, so despite the large number of visitors it does not feel so. Interesting for children, but the parents will like it too.
Great for anyone interested in the human body and it's basic workings. Fun and educational for kids. All in good working order. The food information was interesting and especially good for kids. I am a big kid and loved it!
Have you ever though to walk within a human being? Then visit the Corpus....Of course you should be interested in human physiology and biology...but it is also lots of fun, and there are plenty of activities to do. It is good for small children but also for adults who want to spend a day in a different way. Make sure you book your visit in advance because the entrance is organized by groups at specific time slots. The audio guide (in many languages) is well done and not too boring or too detailed. Reasonable canteen and also good place to organize birthday parties.
This is a journey through the body that fascinated the kids (boys: 8, 10 &12). The information was interesting and geared towards healthy living. There are great visual and ride-type experiences. The booking process is internet only. We were on a campsite with patchy wifi so it was difficult with no printer access. It did go wrong but the lady who helped on the phone went to a lot of trouble to sort it out.
There is a fabulous tour which is in English and very well put together. Afterwards there are lots of things to do and learn about. Allow as much of the day as you can. This is excellent value for money and great for the whole family.
This place i nice. Learned a few things i didn't know about my body. Clear explanation of the functions of major organs.Friendly.We stayed in Leiden for 4 days, visited Naturalis, Boerhave and Corpus. Corpus ranks 3th in my list. The price i smuch steeper than eg. Boerhave but not worth that much more.Taking Photo's is not allowed.
Enjoyable, funny and educational , Recommended mostly for kids from 9 +. I can see this from my office and we were invited to Visit. It's outside of Leiden near the toen of Oegstgeest , esay to find and also convenient to get to by bus from the Leiden Central station
Works with start-time slots so need to purchase ticket in advance, or just drop in end of the day to check if you still can start during an available time-slot..Not suitable for Children under the age of 7....Very nice "interactive" tour...educational for Children and adults...
Although I really like the building, I found the museum a bit 'boring'. It's setup as an experience through the human body and you walk through the different body parts and receive information in each 'room' (eg. the eyes, the lungs, etc). The idea is cool, but there is little room for interaction and as you're in a group moving from room to room, you don't get to hang out and investigate further on specific subjects that you might found interesting.
