Had my 7 yo boy's party there today.Had my reservations before hand but it worked out so well.Great venue, loads of room to run around, staff fantastic ,play equipment well maintained and all the animals and the freedom the kids had to interact with them was super. My son says"it was my best birthday ever"
Myself and my 4 children recently visited the farm, and it did not disappoint! My youngest just loved the baby fox, and even I have to admit the fox was certainly a highlight. The farm itself is beautiful, and very clean. In comparrison to other fun farms, this is most certainly the cleanest. The food is 100% and could not fault! I will certainly return to the farm, my children just loved it! The staff were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable, and at ease :) Brill day!
Relaxing afternoon with my eight year old. He loved feeding the animals especially the goats! We had a lovely picnic amongst the ducks! There is a good and colourful playground. Staff friendly. Would recommend.
We were there today. It cost £23 for myself and 3 kids to get in. I had to pay for everyone as only under 1s are free. This means it is actually more expensive in price than Belfast Zoo (£22 for myself and 7yr old and 4 yr old with 3 yr old free)for a few sheep in a field, a few ducks wandering about and some small animals in small concrete enclosures. The animals are clearly well looked after but all housing is concrete which is easy to clean, but hardly comfortable and certainly not with enough space particularly for the wallaby and the coatimundi. Good hand washing facilities and the eating area seems very clean. I would also object to the double row of barbed wire above the sheep wire in the outside paddocks, hardly safe for small children. Nor is the old style mangle a good idea in a children's play area. All in all, I was very disappointed in this place, feeling robbed as I left even without paying for a tractor ride which was extra, above the £23!!!
Went here for one last day of fun before school. Everything was fine until we were approached and told that we had went tru a wrong gate. We went tru the one that was opened following other people. Felt disgusted that they had to actually run down to inform us. Good advice would be to close gates u dont want people going tru and open the ones u do....definitely wouldnt be going back here or telling others.
We took a 3 yr old and a 7 yr old here. Very Clean indoor area with soft play which was great to have something to at and a cup of tea.The animals are well kept and where all labelled with a little description of their origin.A little on the expensive side but the kids enjoyed it and tired them out for the evening. There was a loose baby goat which would come up and bed for food, the kids loved it as you didn't have to reach through a fence to feed it. All in all a good day out
We came to the Fun Farm because the Ulster American Folk Park was closed with two children aged 9 and 6. It was a pleasant surprise to find it and it's cleanliness and newness was an added bonus. The farm is only open a year and is a work in progress, all the animals is well looked after and the children got to handle a turtle, hedgehog, rabbit and a guinea pig. Outdoor animals included goats, sheep, pigs, donkeys, pony, foul etc. A modern play area is available plus walks and lots of seating.
Recently visited mellon fun farm. On arrival everything looks great and clean and it is a nice wee place to visit but not worth the price. £37 for four adults, a 5 year old and a 2 year old. Added extras are 50p for a bag of food and £1 each for the tractor ride. Animals inside are lovely to look at but would be nice to have posters etc up with a bit of information about the animals, names, what they eat, for the childrens sake. Park outside is good. Small play area inside for the children is a good idea while waiting on food but anymore than 8 children in it would be over crowded, which thankfully didnt happen while we were there. Ordered drinks and a few kids meals which were fine. Didnt really have much dealings with staff but they seemed friendly enough. I know this is probably a family run farm and they have to keep up maintenance and earn a profit but I really think they are over charging people for all thats on offer.
Today was the first time to visit the Fun Farm. We travelled with our son and family. The grandchildren, well the 3yr old did, as the baby is only 5 months, loved feeding the animals. The variety of indoor and outdoor animals were fantastic. The areas were in excellent clean condition, facilities for hand washing, the staff were very friendly and helpful. (Even the animals were so well behaved!!) We also got to meet 2 new comers - 2 beautiful turtles!! Well I can tell the staff are spoiling them now!! The provision for outdoor play area, picnic tables and the walk around the pond. As we travelled by motorhome, we had our own food facilities but I can guess the food would be excellent in their immaculate indoor eating area. As the weather was sunny today, but cold, we were able to enjoy all the areas. This is a must for another day, regardless of the weather!! Thank you for a very enjoyable, relaxed and beautiful place to visit for family of all ages - also Granda had fun on the slide....shhhhhhhhhhh......
Excellent setup, very clean and lots to see with a variety of animals. A good play area both outside and in the cafe. But it is very expensive for a family. £5.50 for a 2 year old and £6.50 for an adult is too much, there is no option of a family price. Also on principle there is additional cost of a £1 per ride on the tractor. Really need to review pricing for visitors wanting to visit often.
