My family and I have visited the Art Center on two different occasions. We greatly enjoyed it both times. I love that they have different art shows with different displays. The last time we went the art show was various models of ships. There were ships made out of pencils and rulers. Very Cool!
Although very small, the fabric art that was displayed here was very unusual and impressive. Gift shop was equally small.
A nice stop on Broadway in downtown Paducah, just a few blocks from river in Market House area. Gallery changes from time to time. Interesting work, worth a look.
changing exhibits right downtown in the Market House. Popular organization has been around Paducah for a long time and easy to pop in while enjoying other downtown Paducah points of interest.
Well worth the visit. No fee. This art gallery contains wonderful artwork from people of the region.
The independence of the gallery allows it the opportunity to showcase a wide variety of artists, selections, or themes that might be otherwise restricted or overlooked (and sometimes overindulged) in a civic or community gallery, not as commercially relevant as a private for-profit gallery, and not as out of touch or uninteresting as some academic galleries, though those all have their place in the intersection of the art world with our own more humble paths through life. The location and free admission allow for a greater variety of public access than many small similar galleries. And the fact that it is in Paducah speaks to the city's strong interest in the varied fringes of the mainstream art world. The staff are very pleasant and will gladly speak to you about the museum's goals and purpose, and that will leave you with an even stronger appreciation of this city's embrace of the power, need, and purpose of art.The exhibits vary over time, some are bound to the community, but many showings are available to artist petition or submission from outside the community. It's definitely worth a stop inside. And if you are enjoying the downtown of Paducah, without a doubt you will pass by Yesier art gallery at some point.
I wasn't expecting to pay to see an "Art show" in a room the size of my living room. The art in it was nice and the people that work there were very nice but come on 15 pieces of over priced art does not make a show!
There was a $5 fee to look around this place. It looks like it was going to be an interesting art museum. When you step around the entrance wall there is a medium size room this is all the museum consist of and the employee doesn't know much about any of the pieces. There are a few pieces I am still trying to figure out why they are in there..
Attended the reception and exhibit at YAC for Paducah artist Clyde Lawter, who is an amazing artist! This was a great venue for the exhibit (go see it!) and a nice facility. Excited to go back and visit in the future! Look for the red yak outside the YAC!
You can spend a lot of time in this small museum, and it would be well worth it. Combined with the flood wall murals, it provides a great overview of Paducah history.
