Always enjoy seeing musicals, concerts, plays at the peoria civic center theater. We feel the Best seats are in first balcony. STOMP was awesome!
If you are a tourist, you can take nice photos of the buildings - the new one and the old in the other side. It's a Convention Center. Nothing more.
People leaving one concert, trying to find their kids and people coming to attend the second concert, didn't make for a smooth transition. It could be handled better. It is a great facility, nicely located.
Great time tonight! Found parking nearby and walked to Jim's Steak House. Seats are comfortable. But a bit irritating that there is no center aisle- you have to cross over everyone else in the row if you're in the middle.
The Civic Center definitely needs someone to direct traffic and show you where to park. We were seated on floor and seats were poorly marked and terribly uncomfortable. Concert was great
Civic Center was nice concert venue. But Worst cab experience ever. Could not get cab after Eric Church concert. Waited an hour in bad weather after many many calls and online requests for a ride. finally had to bribe pizza delivery drive to take us back to hotel. Peoria must have 12 cabs total. Unbelievable for a city that size. No excuse for it. Taxi providers did not answer phones at 10pm? If Peoria wants to think its a big modern city, they need to fix this now.
My wife and I love going to shows and plays but travelling to Chicago or St Louis is not always an option. It is fantastic to have a venue like the Civic Center available for Broadway productions, traveling events, basketball and hockey. There are so many things to be seen there we even take others with us as special presents for holidays and anniversaries. Easy access, convenient parking and great restaurants close by make going downtown Peoria a fun and exciting day!
Tickets were $10 - super clean, family friendly and the concessions were all very reasonable. Great time if you have time when in Peoria.
We saw Eric Church here last weekend. The show was amazing and we were very impressed with the sound system. Have been to many concerts and the shows waereess than they should be because of the sound system. The only problem I had were with the vendors serving drinks. They were spilling the drinks as they passed them down to the customers. I think they were filling the glasses to the brim. Should have accounted for the passing down and then maybe the drinks would not have spilled.
The Peoria Civic Center is a large multi-purpose venue. There's a large sports arena where the Peoria Rivermen hockey team plays. They put a basketball floor over it for the Bradley University basketball team to play. They also use this locaiton big-name musical acts. For smaller name musical acts and theatre productions, there is a smaller theatre (though still pretty good size) also on the property. Then there is exhibition hall space as well. In the winter time, the concourse is freezing cold, so be aware of that (don't show up early before you can get into the theatre/area thinking you'll have a warm place to hang out and kill time, etc.). With the opening of the new Courtyard by Marriott there is now a connected walkway between the civic center and the hotel, which is very nice. So it's getting better.
