At $2 to get in and for parking, this place is a bargain. There are playgrounds, birds galore to watch, you can go fishing and they have camping capabilities. You might even see an alligator from teh boardwalk.
I came to the Park very often, always find a few different elements that inspired my life and my passion for the photography.
If you aren't here to fish and you aren't here to play on the playgrounds, you'd better be into frisbee golf because there isn't too much else. The shelters were well taken care of and during our weekend visit we saw no less than 6 birthdays being celebrated, that was neat! The boardwalk across the lake is a pleasant stroll, pity the observation tower was closed for repairs. Medard Park doesn't have any singularly compelling features, but the overall experience is pleasant.
We like to bring our grandkids here when we camp and let them run wild with their bicycles. They love to come here. It is a county park and only has water and electric
Nice park cost 2 dollars to get in. They have restrooms and several boat slips. Also has pavilion's. They also have a long bridge that goes across the lake and a tower to go up. Lots of alligators and birds to see. Fishing looks good too.
Great place to have a party. Lots of things to keep the kids happy. Water is so pretty. Lots of covered pavillions, overnight camping area, boat ramps and lots of parking. No reservations for pavillions but get there early to get a good one.
Nice facility. Park picnic shelters with grills. Horseback riding nearby that goes through the park. Walking trails, bath facilities, boating and apparently camping facilities. Fishing seems to be popular. Nice playground for the younger kids.
I was looking for a park to do a recent photoshoot, I would have never know to fall in love with this location. The trees are perfect and over grown plants. Only suggestion I would have is for someone to volunteer and clean up the trash (not that much, but still). The rangers are also great and polite.
A couple of buddies and I headed out there this past weekend (11/15) to play the disc golf course. What a great time. Challenging holes and beautiful scenery. The only two downsides were the large number of mosquitoes (it IS Florida woods near standing water...) on some holes and the throngs of inconsiderate groups parking on some of the course areas. Advice to avoid this: go during the week or early morning and bring mosquito repellent. Other than those minor inconveniences, we had an awesome time!
We really enjoyed staying at the park, it had canoe rentals and frisbee golf course. All sites are first come first serve so make sure you call ahead to make sure there's sites available. The campsites vary in size and are all under a lot of shade as well. The sites are all located around a bath house with showers. The bath house cleanliness could have been better but it will not deter me from staying there. The staff were all extremely accommodating and friendly. Any body trying to visit the Tampa area with an RV that wants a decent price should stay here.
