Last visit up showed that the management turnover is going to ruin the whole resort! Terrible service, mediocre food, awful security personal! Not sure our group will stay again
Came to this casino this week and stayed at the hotel. The hotel and rooms are fantastic with high ceilings and lots of windows overlooking Lake Superior. Casino is small with machines. Black jack is one table at $3 per hand. Poker is only Friday and Saturday and there is one table.
Worth the stop. staff was super, food was very good. stay here instead of Bayfield. Nice clean hotel, have camping, and marina.
I have been to this place to gamble and have eaten here place more than once and decided I would not eat there again. The food is at best average or below and not cheap for what you get. For those who like a healthier meal, the salad bar is poor with no deep greens or much of a choice. As for the rest of the Casino, they don't seem to want to open up enough blackjack tables to accommodate the number of people who want to play?? not the first time I noticed this either, In many cases one and maybe two tables, even though they have several more. My last visit I waited for 45 minutes and watched others wait as well to play. On another note, Security seemed friendly enough and the bar was okay too.
We have just returned from our second visit to Bayfield. We spent time at the casino during both visits. We were treated to friendly service and even won at the slots both visits. We ate breakfast there Aug. 14th and really enjoyed good food at a very reasonable price. Our hostess and waitress were great. The view from the outside deck can't be beat. Keep it up folks we will be back!
The casino was quite full and had lots of penny slots and a couple Black Jack tables. Free soda while you play. Looks like a nice restaurant that over looks the lake. But the spoiler is cigarette smoking! Not being casino people, don't know if this is the norm but it was really unpleasant after a bit. Fortunately there is no smoking in the restaurant.
Did not like the restaurant. Took over an hour to get our meal. When we got it, the food was cold. Did not receive the full order. Rest of order came when done eating, and then had to take home, was horrible. People at next table were there before us and we got our food before theirs. Waitress had no enthusiasm. The smoke in the building was horrible.
I found this place to be just lovely. We camped. 25$ per night. Waves crashing and views of Basswood Island. I recieved 27$ worth of casino promotional money. You can't just cash it in, but I did leave with 20.55$ ahead. You get 10$ if its your birth-month. 10$ since you camped with them....etc......Its just 3 miles north of Bayfield without the hustle and bustle of the city. Gas station nearby sells booze, ciggarettes, gas and firewood.Camp showers are very clean and nice! They are inside the casino building, a 2 minute walk or less.. Port-o-potties near camp. Free ice. Not sure if campers are allowed to use the pool but we did.The pool was very clean on a wednessday. less clean that sunday AM...... Very clean pool and hot tub.. Hot tub allows indoor entrance and outdoor entrance, we could swim through the door to go outside. Pool is small but we had it to ourselves on three different ocassions.Half of our party could not arrive due to an early baby......we did not have to pay for their site, the lady behind the desk was very nice and didn't make us pay for the site we wouldn't be using......even though we missed their 48 hour window for cancellations......There is an old and very neat cemetery that is difficult to see but it located behind the campground and inbetween the campground and the curch. We walked through and it was really interesting. Some graves are little houses with doors on them. The campsites with the best views would be numbers 5,6,7,8......we were sites 15 and 16 and there are treees blocking the view of the lake. Also, no electric for tent only sites. Site 23 in the back is the most private. A storm was blowing in and two casino workers drove their golf cart over to make sure our tent was staked securely and to welcome us into the hotel/lobby/casino if we are scared of the weather!!! The staff were very nice and accomadating. Friendly staff with smiles!!! Our waiter inside the casino at wii-k-way..??...was great too! Local knowledge that he shared!!!!!When they found out it was my birthday, the waiter said "ill see if i can find a giant sombrero or something" hahahaha, He came back with a slice of cake and whipped topping, a finely sliced strawberry spread apart and a lit birthday candel!!!!!! He even blocked the wind so my candle wouldn't blow out!!!! SO AWESOME!We did not know that the tent only sites did not have electric, so we ran a bright orange electric cord to the nearest RV outlet, no one showed up to that site, and no one asked us to unplug our electric. We lost our cell phone and the front desk had it. They brought us towels. The staff genuinely wanted to help us have a great stay!!!!!!!The building is beautiful with Native Birch art and great decor!!!! The smell of cigg. smoke is prominent when you walk iDo not plan to go to their beach.....it was not clean or large. Drive the couple miles north on HWY 13 to Little Sand Bay.......The beach had a small reservior filled with goose droppings!
The casino has clean bathrooms and a bar with a nice view of Lake Superior. 16 ounce tap beer for 2.75. Friendly helpful staff. Casino Hotel has a shuttle bus into Bayfield.
Best part about the place was the view. They only have two card tables and not much action. They also didn't have bingo. If you want to play slots for awhile this should work fine though.
