This place is so far past its prime that it should be converted into a municipal course. Invasive grasses have overtaken the fairways, and chewed into many greens. The layout is boring, which is hard to do in Puerto Rico! Maintenance is weak. The food is bad. Service is absolutely AWFUL. And the number of reptiles on the greens was the worst I've experienced. Overall, a really bad experience - and yet it is expensive!
We enjoyed our round at the Ocean Course. They have a package rental deal we took advantage of, for clubs, shoes and the round. Course was in good shape, would play it again.
I Loved this place, beautiful grounds, nice large rooms, friendly staff, romantic location. These are all the positive aspectsnegative, i would advise not to eat in the resturants or get drinks from any of the bars, except "happy hour" its very over priced!!The rooms did smell a little damp but i could live with that. The beach was nice but saying that it was the worse beach we had been too. the sand is corse and the water is hard to swim in due to seaweed or something .Im not a golf player so i cant comment on the course, but the courses are immaculate as are the grounds. If your not driving your gonna be stuck here as just the main gates too reception is over 3 miles away!!
Nice clean confortable rooms. Garden or ocean view are great. Front desk lazy. 22 mins to check in and I was 2nd on line. Parking is always full so be ready to spend on valet. Resort owned restaurant service is awful.
The fairways were wide open. Greens rolled true. Pace of play was fair realizing it is a resort. Staff in Pro Shop were friendly and helpful giving us a decent 9 hole twilight rate. Plenty of wild life and rain forrest views. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Isla Verde and drove to the course. It was about an hour drive. Make sure you rent a car as it would cost a fortune to take a cab here. Would play again if in Puerto Rico.
Have to say the hotel is very clean. Pool is clean. Took my family to do some tourism and we had a great time. Rooms are comfortable. A car is recommended to have the chance to go to the Only Caribbean rainforest el yunque.
It has 2 eighteen hole courses ocean and river course. I liked the river course more but it is a little more challenging than ocean. Not much of a ocean view on the ocean course except for 1 hole. But the course is well maintained and you see iguanas wandering on the course. The pro shopgirl Alexandria was very pleasant and professional. Hotel shuttle runs every 15 mins and it is 2-3 mins away from the Wyndham Rio mar hotel.
Decent food, amazing pina coladas, beautiful atmosphere and building. very nice staff, quiet environment, family friendly
Nicd layout, but poor condition as flooding had occurred on the River Course and the Ocean course was closed
Disappointed playing this course. Course not in good shape. Very expensive green fees. Plus, only one hole on the Ocean Course is actually on the ocean. Sheesh. The Rio Mar Resort, beach, casino, etc itself is quite nice.
