The Harbor has turned into a young people's "hang out". Not sure how any of the few businesses that remain survive. The movie theatre is the only reason anyone I know goes to the Harbor and they only go in the daytime. Most including myself, don't feel safe especially at night. The City of Rockwall does not provide any regular security, at least any that I have ever seen. I'm afraid, without special attention by the City, the Harbor is destined to become an abandoned property sooner rather than later.
The Harbor at Rockwall is a great place to visit, summer evenings there are sometimes live bands, many specialty shops, a Cinemark theater, restaurants with views of the harbor, and a Hilton Hotel.
We love the Harbor. We have eaten at every eatery, taken the harbor cruise ship, stayed at the Hilton, and been to the theater numerous times. When the weather is nice, it's a great place to take out-of-town visitors, or your honey!
Has music on the water, boat rides, close to shopping and is beautiful at night. Very, very clean. Family friendly. All within walking distance to the Hilton Hotel.
I absolutely Love being on the Harbor in the summer time. Gloria's, The Seafood, the Boats, and the music. I simply Love it.
I’m in my 20s so it’s not as though I’m the crotchety old lady who won’t give the kids there ball back, but the teens at the Harbor ruin it. Why would anyone want to fight for a parking spot or pay to valet, pay for food and drink just to hang out in what amount to a teenage playground? The management at the Harbor should hire some security guards, or maybe the cops that I have seen around could enforce a no lording rule. The teens that run around yelling and making a fool of themselves drive away SO much business. I know that my husband and I and our adult friends with jobs would frequent the harbor much more often and spend our money on their food and booze if not for these hoodlums. As is we will Go there for the movie and the Hell out of there as fast as we can take our money elsewhere
Nice place, only issue was the water in the lake. Levels were way down, so boats couldn't get close to the dock. Nice shopping and food in the area.
We visited in May and this is a nice place to relax and walk and just spend some time. Not very crowded and a beautiful view of the lake.
I reviewed this shopping site about two years ago and was impressed with the development. Then I went back a few days ago and found empty buildings and closed stores. It looks as though the plaza has "peaked" and development has for the most part stopped. Disappointing to see restaurants closed.
The Harbor Rockwall has tremendous potential, but i has too many vacancies in its store fronts to be considered a success. But it has a terrific view of the lake and its shoerline.
