Beautiful course, reasonable challenges, and the caddies are beyond reproach - they know every hole and adjust their input to you play style. Several holes with photo views. If you stay at Iberostar, one round, drinks and snacks are included.
cinnamon hill golf course was great and challenging.you have to have a caddy - well worth the $20 suggested. do not book it thru your resort though.when i booked it thru the resort when we got there it was about $150/ round with transportation not including the caddy.i brought my own clubs.the course was 5 minutes away.when i got to the course you could golf for $99 and they supplied the clubs.i thought $50 for a 5 min. drive there and back was a huge rip off! i will say the course was spectacular and i am glad i played it.i also played the white witch course and i would encourage you to play that as well.
And with few exceptions (Casa de Campo, MidOcean, Sandy Lane) you're probably not going to find great courses in the Caribbean. If you have the choice, play White Witch (we wanted to but GolfChannel was filming a reality show there).POSITIVES:* Ocean holes are pretty (#5, #6) and you also have some holes thru the woods on the back 9 that are also very nice.* #14 is where they filmed the waterfall scene in Live or Let Die* You pass by Johnny Cash's old house.* Unlike other posters, we thought everyone was friendly. Our caddy Conroy was very good on yardages...because often times it was quite different than the marker.NEGATIVES:* Course conditions are rather poor. Lots of browned out areas. Tee boxes were beat up and often you had an uneven stance. It rained a bit while we played and water puddled on the greens.* $180 for 2 sets of rental clubs seemed very steep given pretty much everyone is renting.* They force you to take a cart AND a caddy. I would've preferred one or the other.
Had a great time golfing this course. So beautiful and the par 3's are amazing. Caddies are wonderful and a great help, they work very hard.
We are avid golfers, the conditions aren't what you will get in the U.S., but this was a nice layout with beautiful ocean views.
I thought overall that the course seemed a little shabby. The service at the clubhouse seemed slow and no one was in a hurry to fulfill drink or food orders. The caddies assigned to my group were very helpful and I'm guessing they work for tips only so take care of them! Lots of nice settings, I think one hole (the third) was right on the sea and the course was built in and around the remains of an old sugar plantation. I'm not a true golfer so I can't speak to the course conditions, only the aesthetics of the place.
First, we had to wait for more than an hour because they over booked. Groups of 60 & 40. Had to wait for club rentals. Once on the course it was a good time. Some great views. Caddy was helpful and friendly. I'd do it again and recommend you give it a try. Just make sure of the t-time.
There are basically 4 great courses on the North Coast to play.White Witch,Cinnamon Hill,Half Moon and Tryall.I took clients of mine to Cinnamon Hill again today, just a great course. An interesting mixture of holes both on the ocean and up in the hills.Good pro shop, nice pro(Sebert)and a MUST play for the serious golfer.Since I've started to write these reviews I've fielded many private messages from people and everyone has been satisfied with CH.
We had a beautiful sunny day, the course was well maintained and our caddie (Rashford) was really helpful. The views from the front 9 are incredible, you play right by the water.*One tip, there are locals that sell pre-used balls 12 for $10...decent savings on Pro V1s which are $20 a sleeve at the pro shop
Pretty course set both along the ocean and in the hills. Good caddie. Of the three that we played this was the worst maintained and we chose not to play it a second time. Clubhouse restroom hadn't been updated in years - needed work.
