Played here several times. Nice course and friendly staff. When in Santee give it a try. First hole is a tough starting hole. Your second or third shot depending on length off the tee is over water to an elevated green -- use enough club!!
Four of us booked golf package to Santee. We played Lake Marion Golf Course the last day. It is a beautiful course with water and sand. Challenging yet a lot of fun to play. The staff here is wonderful. They bend over backward to assist you. Coming back here again.
Great pro shop, nice greens, and beautiful layout, but endured a five hour round.Played the course on Master's week, may have been the reason for so many golfers.
Bring a few balls more than you usually do if you haven't been out for a while. Water comes into play on many holes. GPS on carts a welcome aid especially on elevation changes.
Need to cut new holes. Some were half the size of regulation. They are doing something with holes that I have never seen before. Precut holes all over the green covered up with synthetic grass. Only one of the holes is not covered. Had to move ball several times as to not hit one of these? I guess it is done for less maintenance?
A golfing group played one of three rounds at Lake Marion, where we were well provided for. The course is well maintained, and the pro shop had as good a selection of golf equipment and accessories as I've seen.
A local invited us to play this course and we really enjoyed it. Some holes require position play where a three wood will work better than a driver. Lots of water to play around, but overall a very fair course. There are two courses in Santee owned by the same management and they are equally fun to play. Staff is very friendly and they are both on the International Golf Card program. Play was four hours.
We always start our golf outing here as it is a very fair course but still challanging enough. Since greens were replaced a couple years ago it has improved this course alot. Highly recommend this course for anyone.
I had my group of 64 players at Lake Marion.. Wonderful treatment and very nice golf course.. The place is very well kept and always a great pleasure to play.. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Friends and I have played this course since 1990 we are all 15 to 19 handicap golfers. It took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to play the first three holes. The rounds were averaging 5 Hours and 15 minutes plus. We came up to hole # 6 with 4 golfers on the green, a foursome , another foursome,a threesome all waiting on the tee, and another foursome coming off #5. We called the club house and asked if a ranger could come out and help. We were told they could see where all the carts where on their computer via the GPS system in the carts and it WAS NOT BACKED UP. Painful ,,,one of the guys in the foursome behind us quit after 9 holes. Groups of guys playing from the blues tees that had no business playing from back there. No management control of play whatsoever.
