I contacted the park to arrange a weekend stay this week and was told that there is a limit of a 7 night stay! Which is really impossible for most people. My mate that wanted to come fishing has recently had a hip replacement and cannot camp on an airbed so we are cancelling our fishing trip. Last year we stayed in the cabins for a forced 3 night stay which was bad enough as we only wanted to stay 1 night then. We noticed that only 2 out of 6 cabins were occupied during the australia day weekend and that the occupants of the other cabin changed each night! Apparently the 3 night minimum only applied some!! I bet its the same now. If i went there right now i bet only 1 or 2 of the cabins are occupied and they are not staying for 7 nights!! Chronic mismanagement and a waste of government resources. Very, very disappointed
I have been here many times, generally not easter, or school holidays.I have always found it peaceful and quite and great place to visit. We arrived in our new small van and were still lucky to find spot suitable. It was very packed at this time at although still remained quiet where we were. Only thing was ran out of hot water in mens shower, so hubby had COLD shower. The amenities where we noticed were a quick hit and miss clean even at strange times, several times during the day whilst easter was on. It was good not to run out of toilet paper. It was great monday night as plenty of shower time and toilet. The place was kept neat and tidy by the staff. Staff we dealt with was friendly and helpful. It was a shame that 1% of the guests didn't pick up there mess.It is great now its quieter and easy to walk around and admire the native inhabitants (kangaroos and pretty parrots) It is best to have some sort of gear for the water, unless you love bush walking around. Plenty of spaces now to camp when not busy. I would recommend this spot but not at major holiday times. It has lovely looking cabins and bungalows overlooking the dam and a great day area for visitors.I will return
Staying here at the moment in the caravan park. No one else is here. Amenities are spotless. The lake itself is great. Plenty of places to swim & fish. We will be coming here on a regular basis. The kiosk is great with a good feed every time.
Friendly staff good fascilities lots of outdoor fun in a friendly environment You need to take some form of water entertainment ie canoe boat jetski and or camping gear tent sleeping bag fires are permitted but check as fire bans can be in place over summer. Fishing is also very good so a rod and reel will come in handy as well as some bait there is a kiosk on site that sells most stuff needed for camping but you also have cabins if you cant handle a tent. Really good family experience.
Found the lake by mistake, wouldn't stay in the van park, but we were able to pick our own site on the lake. Weather was terrible. Fantastic views. Have to remember to fill up your van with water before heading there. Staff helpful, kiosks was great, they make the best coffee and are very friendly, would definitely go back.
Just enjoyed a two night weekend camping stay. Friendly staff, clean facilities and well looked after. The hot water in the mens shower could use a little more pressure but that is all I can fault. Great little cafe. We will definitely return.
We come here a lot to camp and go boating/fishing. The kiosk is great and the amenities block is excellent. Large park with a lot of places for camping so you always get your own space and quite often feel like you are the only people there. Glenbawn dam is huge and therefore is great for boating and water sports. The only facilities are up near the kiosk though, and if you are camping it is quite a hike. Best to bring your bbq with you.
My husband and I went and stayed here id say 4 yrs ago as the months visted doenst go back that far. We went there for a family members birthday and we all stayed in a cabin each. We got there to our room and as we were getting the bedding done there were mice in the pillow cases that were on the pillow grass all over the floor in cabin we didnt stay in there as it was putrid and mice everywhere. Went into where my parents were staying and it was clean and everything. We told management as we left and they said theres bait under the cabins we can put it in cabin as they are frequently used. And have said theres a plague of them well you would think you'd not have that particular cabin available while the cabin is infested. Will never go back again. Was promised a refund for half the amount and havent even got that back.
Quite a large waterpark. Obviously popular with locals as well as Travellers. Visited over the Xmas New Year break and there was quite a lot of people there camping and boating.
I'd heard new managers had taken over the park and things had improved. I have just returned from a five night stay and am amazed at the transformation. The cabins are now very clean, much more work has been carried out on the grounds and they are wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was worth the price increase of $12 a night just to have clean cabins.
